Decimation of Summer

The Decimation of Summer in large part can be attributed to a young Manxian prince Jarl Stormbreaker. Jarl under cover of darkness, found his way into the faerie capital city of Lantanas and stole the magic stones [Anfarael , which kept the island afloat. It is said he escaped riding a gilded griffon, who flew him down to his ship, and carried him away with the stones. His actions, had they not completely decimated the entirety of Faeria would have re-ignited the great war, in which the faerie people separated the great island into 3, and took to the skies with what is known as Summer Isle many thousands of years ago.   As Summer Isle fell from grace, it is said that the Summer King took the life of the Summer Queen to save her the heartache of seeing her people destroyed. Manxian war ships quickly headed for the island, though King Ragnar claimed they were traveling in peace. The free people of Cilthandiel say the Manxian's murdered every living Faerie on the island, but the Manxian's claimed almost all were dead upon their arrival, with nearly half of the expected population missing or unaccounted for.   The decimation of summer is said to also be the fall of the summer island. Since the event, it has slowly become an overgrown jungle, with creatures only the bravest of adventures dare to face. Some however say that if you travel far enough into the heart of the island, you can still find Faeries today.

Spread

This is a common story told to children when they are growing up. Depending on where the children are from, they hear either the violent and war hungry Manxian's slaughtered the faeries, or that the weak faeries fled when their king took his queen's life.
