If one is to seek knowledge from sailors, or tales from that which lies at the bottom of the sea, Rottendam is the place to discover that. An ancient city, once booming with travel until the reign of a ruthless tyrant Rüerik Darkgalleon. Embracing its mocking name, "Rottendam" is now a free port and a safe haven for old and weary sailors, who have witnessed the horrors of the northern seas. As such, entertainment is easy to find in this squalid city.

Demographics

Mostly inhabited by the sea-faring folk, Rottendamn has as well welcomed some aquatic races to live among their ranks. Missing traditional sense of law or protection, many find a safe haven behind these small, plank walls, softened by centuries of rain and salt.

Government

Any actual governance of Rottendam is mostly divided between gangs of criminals and crews of sailors. None are too sure of who are the villains in Rottendam, as every gang accuses each other of piracy and violence and claims themselves to be the true rulers of the town. As long as one can navigate the city and avoid the central territories of these gangs, they cause no trouble to the every-day traveler of Rottendam.
