The sun Eater
Summary
Long ago, when the world was new, the all-mother gave birth to three children. Halios, of the Stars and Fire and of the Evara sun, Casta, of the Kyrda sun and Saorise, of the moon. These three gods would protect Taros and in turn would bring the start of the human and other species that would soon inhabit it.
Time went past, and though two suns worked for a while, the land was beginning to dry, become cracked and dried. This, of course killed off the grain and farn animals. Then, the humans began to wither and die. The hunans begged to Halion and Casta, but both were too proud to extinguish one of their suns.
And so their pleading cries fell on deaf ears.
Then, one day a tiny child, barely more than eight summers old, sho had watched her mother die from starvation, prayed to Saorise. And she listened. She listened to the child's prayer, and began to hatch a plan.
Day and night, she whispered into halios ear, feeding him lies and untuths. That Casta was going to hurt him, to steal his godship. Halion was upset at the thought and begged his sister to tell him how to prevent this.
"You must cut out Casta' heart, and eat its entirety.Only then will you be safe."
"Wont this act kill him?" Halion cried, appalled and shocked at the notion.
Saorise smiled to herself "No, brother dearest, it will only put him to sleep, and no harm will be done"
Halios nodded, and once night fell he snuck upon Casta, who was preparing to rest and brought a blade to his chest, into his heart.Casta, in turn slashed out with his own blade, confused and unsure as to what was happening"Brother?"
Halios said nothing, as he cut out his brothers heart, and wrenched it out of its cavity, warm golden blood poured over his hand, and ate it in its intirety.
The Kyrda sun extinguished, and Casta melted away to nothing.
It took mere moments for Halios to realise what he had done, and let out an ear piercing shreik. He stood quivering and shaking, and went to find saorise, "Sister you lied!" He hissed, through gritted teeth and stinging tears. But Saorise offered no compassion "you are right Brother, I did lie.Yet something had to be done. Both of your arrogance and unwillingness to listen has cost so many lives, it was only fair that i took matters into my own hands, would you not agree?" She murmured, in a soft voice that did not regret what she had done, infact she revelled in it.
Halios said nothing, but drew his blade, still coated in his brothers golden blood, as he hurled himself at her, but Saorise was quick to dodge and even quicker began to run.
And thus began a never ending circle of the sun chasing the moon aroud Taros and her other planets.
