Jaralian Empire
There was a time when the Empire was little more than impressive cities scattered around the wilds of the world, but now, in the years Post-Shattering it has expanded and grown across the world. Large cities, interconnected communities, and great nations all across the wide world. Spawning through Aldabryn, Helfdome, Warden, Gerame and far reaches of Ultan the empire of mankind has become the largest power on the world, rivaled only in size by the combined empires of the Sun and Moon.
Structure
The Jaralian Empire is, at it's core, a decentralized government spanning far too much land and population to ever function directly under the direct will of the Emperor. Since it was originally created and ruled over by the gods of the Jaralian Pantheon the logistics of communication, resources, and the like were never placed in the hands of mortals until the separation when quite suddenly the failings of the empire of gods came to light.
How the Jaralian Empire managed to survive the shattering and sudden realization that it was not a unified body in how it once was under the rule of the gods has been lauded as being one of the greatest achievements of the modern age. Starting with a bloody coup around the time of the Shattering by the then dubbed Lord Furandauntaless the First the Jaralian empire focused primarily on consolidation and diversification in the wake of the Shattering.
Instead of a Emperor ruling as a figurehead under gods the Emperor instead became a rallying presence for humans the globe over.
In order to insure that the people were satisfied and that they were being properly represented a great swell in noble houses occurred and new borders were made as refugees from the Shattering attempted to find homes for themselves within the new, very mortal empire.
These new lands were to be formed into new countries (or rarely referred to as Kingdoms) and the Emperor themselves chose Archdukes/duchesses who would be responsible for managing those lands. Instructed by the Throne to divide up their land into smaller, more manageable duchies and to provide those lands to those who the Archdukes deemed worthy of title.
And those duchies would then, in many parts of the empire be subdivided into Earldoms as the ruling Dukes saw fit/required due to geography unique to each region. And through this the people at each level of government would be represented. The townsfolk and commoners would pay taxes and report issues directly to their Earl/Mayor (in the case of landed knighthoods)/Duke and the Duke would pay a small portion of the taxes raised directly to the King/Archduke who would be responsible for the Dukedom's and ensuring peace through the realm in situations where the Dukes were unable to control the land themselves. And in turn the Archduke/duchess who often have no direct control over any specific part of the country like duke's and earl's do would pay a smaller portion still of their taxes directly to the Imperial Throne and if something should arise that require the Emperor's direct attention act as a representative for not just themselves but each of the dukedom's within their control.
The Emperors, throughout the past age have always taken these rare call to arms or attention very seriously. Large amounts of resources are used to maintain easy, and contiguous magical connection with the Archdukes and, with two hours notice the Empire can have platoons of troops teleported from the capital in force to a desired location within their reach. These responses have been few and far between as normally the people who are chosen for the esteemed positions of Archduke and those delegated under them have often been done by people of the sort to resolve their issues without involving the Throne.
In this the empire has become increasingly cosmopolitan and open, much to the chagrin of the church on occasion, but it has been proven throughout the past age that by letting the people worship and express their freedoms as they please they are more happy to be under the Jaralian Banner and live under her rule.
Culture
Culturally the Jaralian Empire is as varied as its people. What first was a tight collection of city states ruled by gods with strict and dedicated practices has become a cosmopolitan decentralization of culture. The presence of the Jaralian church has begun to wane in the farther reaches of the empire and, as a whole, duchies and earldoms are left to dictate holy days as they please as well as laws and practices.
Though, that is not to say that the tenants of the Jaralian Faith have not left their mark on the culture. The values of the Empire have permeated every part of their life that, even in cosmopolitan regions that have begun to fall under the influence of other cultures more wholly the core of the Empire remains:
Be true to your neighbor
Be true to yourself
Suffer not the Tyrant
Together there is Strength
And that through knowledge the people are uplifted.
Few nations have clung so tightly to education as the Jaralian Empire, inspired by the child god Umbancarno, one of the greatest cultural influences of the Empire is just how educated even the common folk are.
Whereas the Empires of the Sun and Moon, the elf lands, have put less of an effort towards education as a focus of their culture, believing that their people would acquire what is needed through their long lives instead of through tightly regimented education.
This has led to the lands of the Jaralian Empire being home to the greatest Academies, Universities, and great schools across all of the land, and a firm and solidified grasp that why the tiller working the fields is important for bringing food to uplift the stomach, the poet who enflames the soul and uplifts the spirit is just as important. This predication towards arts and study have paved the way for the Empire to have some of the greatest architectures and structures of the modern aged, blending the sciences and magical arts together to create world renowned beacons of craftsmanship.
Such great bodies of culture are D'amorand, the City of Dreams in the Duchy of Karaendall, the Arcane University in the Fields of Magere, and the Bed of Knowledge, a titanic library in the heart of Warden, the capital city of the Empire.
Public Agenda
Since the Age of Heroes began and the ascension of Emperor Synfistorous the agenda of the Jaralian Empire has been to heal the wounds and scars left in the wake of the Gem Wars. To repopulate cities and duchies that were decimated by the wrath of Ras'al Khan, offering incentives to those people willing to travel to abandoned ghostlands and resettle, the potential to earn your title, land and nobility offered as a prize for those who prove above and beyond their intent.
As well, since coming to power, the focus of the Empire has been reparation and aid. Coming to those nations it had once warred with. In the wake of the war that nearly ended the world many nations have buried old hatchets and though there are old grudges those in power on almost all fronts work to create a better tomorrow.
Assets
The greatest access to the Jaralian Empire is it's raw population. Rough censors would indicate that across the four continents that house the majority of its power it bares a population of 1.2 billion citizens. And with this comes with a great diversity. Many dwarven cities, gnomish metropolises, halfling shires, and beyond exist within the borders of the Jaralian empire as independent nations (and some times enemies). This has lead to a great diversity of populace, and, with the founding of the Ironbrand Empire in the early years of the Age of Separation there came a large influx of thriband races increasing the populations of orcs, goblinoids and trolls within the empire.
History
Founded officially during the Age of Peace, the Jaralian empire's first nobles were hand chosen by the Jaralian Pantheon; i.e. the Church of Jaralism. The gods themselves chose the first nobles from those with whom the could sense 'great destiny' and during this age, one of violent exploration and settling these now noble houses were sent out to colonize and settle the wilds. This lead to many parts of the extended empire for much of the Age of Peace, and War to be little more than large cities in harsh, inhospitable wilds such as Stockton in far off Helfdome.
With The Shattering came the Age of Separation and a coup that ended the life of the then empire and a new dynasty was installed in its place; one born of the wild blood of the northern men who had lived among the clans of Tempest, separate from the empire though they, more closely than most, worshipped and followed one of its gods.
This new Emperor focused on ending the war with the elves and quelling the roaving bands of thriband that were making a mockery of the land during the chaos of The Shattering. Furandauntaless the First focused on consolidating power, creating strict lines of government and responsibility where before the lines of rulership had been vague and left to the whims of gods. Through this the current system was created through which accountability and responsibility for her lands would be divided through tiers all throughout the fragile empire.
And through this the Empire has regained its composure as one of the largest unified bodies of the world. One in which the Dauntalass bloodline has ruled almost uncontested for nearly fifteen hundred years, though there were a few centuries where they were disposed until a proper heir resumed the thrown nigh one hundred years before the Gem War in the form of Tierandauntaless the Third.
Territories
The Jaralian Empire encompasses all of Helfdome, and Warden, over half of Aldabryn, two thirds of Gerame and a fifth of Ultan.
Foreign Relations
In recent years diplomatic relations have been fostering and changing for the positive. A lasting peace seems to have been started between the Jaralian Empire and the Empire of the Sun, though tensions still remain with the Empire of the Moons.

Silver pieces are often referred to as 'Bolts' and are ellipse shaped with an embossed lightning bolt down the front side.
Gold pieces are often referred to as 'Clouds' and are made into an oval shape that swells around the edges to give the coin the 'shape of a cloud'.
Platinum pieces are often referred to as 'Suns' and are half-moon shaped, printed to look like the rising sun coming over a hillside.
All of these coins have the stamp on the alternate side of the Jaralian church, an eight pointed star with intersecting lines.
