Best Known Organizations in Taranis

There are many, many organizations in Taranis, some that want to be known, and others that revel in darkness. The following are those that most people know of.

The Armar Company

The obiquitous merchant association. It owns anything from small general shops to fancy auction houses, and it has a presence even in small villages, either in the form of associated shops or travelling merchants. There's a membership mechanic that allows higher tier members to receive discounts and have access to more unique and rare items, but even money can't buy the more exclusive tiers. The Armar Company is also a prolific sponsor of many events. Its symbol is a decagon with another smaller decagon inside connected to each other, meant to look like the top view of a cut diamond.

The Mage Circle

Probably the most influential association in Taranis. Every magic user has the right to belong to the Circle, even though not everyone claims this right, because with each privilege comes a duty. The upper echelons of the Circle, elected by its members among its most powerful and prestigious, have the heavy duty to regulate its members, to avoid unchecked power growth in a magic user, or unbalanced powers in various factions, all to avoid a repeat to the disastrous wars that used to shape the world. The current regulations and restrictions of magic use in some territories, like Albedo, Orstad, and Dal Echil, are also mostly the work of the upper council of the Circle. However their duty is also to protect its members from unchecked restrictions and to spread knowledge to fight ignorance about the most persecuted branches of magic, like warlock magic or the necromantic school. Each member has a tablet to prove their affiliation, which is proven to be impossible to be falsified given the current understanding of magic. Their symbol is a simple circle. Inside there are symbols, writings, and shapes to signify the identity and level of the owner of the tablet. Higher tier tablets are said to have useful magical properties, but the actual details are kept a secret, if there's any truth about it a all.

The Cut Wrist

This is the association that everyone claims to know of, but there's not much actual knowledge about it. It's a seemingly widespread criminal association. Where it doesn't have actual strongholds, it has alliances, and anyway it seems to control most organized crime in Taranis. It has notably resisted all of the attempts of various powers to wipe off this organization, which has started the rumors that the Cut Wrist might have people even in the upper echelons of society. Its symbol is a handprint, but it's unlikely to be the only one.
