Assets

The Benevolent Order of Amora is the smallest of the nine knightly orders of Varona, consisting of knights which are sent to protect smaller barons and other low-ranking nobles. As such, they are the least wealthy and well-funded, resulting in oft under-trained and under-equipped knights.

History

The BOA was formed many hundreds of years ago by a prophet named Ylymt (eel-imped) in an effort to bring stability to the warring clans of the region. Ylymt and his knights succeeded in doing so, bringing uneasy peace to the area until the year 529 PE when Chieftain Valentina of the Utrina tribe stepped forward and united the clans once and for all as their queen. At this point, the order had solidified itself as the main religious body in the region, competing the teachings of several other gods. It remained this way until the year 679 PE when a splinter group of the order, led by Giralt the Stalwart won over the still-young nation of Varona with their more aggressive version of Amora's teachings, and promises of a vast and powerful empire. Giralt went on to form the Imperial Order of Amora, which then took the place as head religious institution in Varona. To this day there is still in-fighting between the two orders, however it has mostly settled to a gentle simmer, as the BOA are unwilling to engage in unnecessary conflict.
