Structure
The ruling clan was formerly the Onyxcrowns, but is now contested. Then there are three ranks of clans, the Powerful Clan, the Major Clan, and the Minor Clan. Powerful clans have two or more Major Clans as vassals. Major clans have three or more Minor clans below them. Minor clans have one or none clans as their vassals.
History
The Dwarf Empire has existed for millennia, but they were mortal enemies of the Terran Empire. Near the end of the Terran Empire they managed to attack the capital of Whitestone directly and kill the entire ruling clan, the Onyxcrowns, before retreating. A series of succession wars began and have been going on since as different clans make claims on the throne.
