Leaders of these tribes are appointed via lineage. Every solstice and equinox, all nomadic ratha tribes meet at the Valakari, a giant pyramid at the center of the continent, in order to exchange goods, information, and to pay respect to the ratha god Loksha. Believed by the Ratha to have stolen the gift of fire from the dragons (who they believe created the world), and then built the Valakari, as an offering to the dragons in exchange to keep them from exacting revenge. When a Ratha tribe sets up shop somewhere, all that can be seen is a sea of tents, many brightly colored and with intricate patterns and designs. Leaders' tents are indicated by a large flag with the tribe’s coat of arms flying atop the tent. The colors of these tents are matching or analogies to the tribe’s flag color. The Ratha tend to wear hooded robes made from silk like fabrics to help regulate their temperature in the hot desert where shade is hard to find. For battle purposes they’ll wear leather armor that allows them to move quickly. Different tribes wear different colors based on tribal flags. Ratha tend to use smaller weapons to maintain movement in battle, they often use daggers, cutlasses, and small crossbows. However when hunting dragons on dune sails, they’ll use large spears that take multiple Ratha to throw. The Ratha trade mainly in two ways, first is within their own kind, namely just general goods and supplies. Second is the mountains of Solvasi are full of metal, metal the Serali need to build their towering arctic cites, so the Ratha will travel to these mountains and mine the precious metals en mass to be picked up at the coast via Serali airship. This is in exchange for things like whale meat and blubber, fish, furs, and even water coming from large chunks of ice in years of drought. The Ratha have two types of magic, fire and illusion. The Ratha can control fire, and summon fire using the energy around them. Their illusion magic comes from a need for camouflage, like the Muro and unlike the Azara and Serali, the Ratha are not the apex predators of their environment, and they adapted to this over time via stealth. They can change the color of their scales to some extent to match their environment (bright colors are very hard to achieve), can become invisible for short periods of time, can create invisible walls for a short period of time, and can create holographic copies of items, themselves, or others in the environment for short periods of time (length of time depends on size and willingness of target).
