Eye color: Black Gate: Bipedal Build: Average but squishy Age of maturity: 12 years Lifespan: 60-80 Society and Structure: Muro society is centered around trade on the Hydraxic islands, as it allows them to get many resources they can’t underwater. The islands are governed by the Lunarian Council (Luraria being the centermost island), who control trade on the islands, and govern the large Muro cities near the islands. Nearby and on the islands there are many trading organizations run by the Muro who live in said cities. Farther away from the islands out in the hydraxus sea, the Muro live in small, ungoverned villages, and trade only with other nearby Muro villages. Muro, while able to breathe air and water, are only able to verbally communicate under the water, as they do so by vibrating their gills. However on the surface Muro have a common sign language they communicate in using their hands. As learning to communicate via magic takes more time and is harder for traders to pick up quickly. Muro cities are often made of coral, and coral is transported up to the surface and used in building. Muro buildings underwater are vibrant and colorful, as the coral is alive. However on the surface Muro architecture is a stark white, as the coral is dead. Muro almost never live full time on the surface because of this and the lack of verbal communication. Muro practice two main types of magic, water and healing. Water magic allows the Muro to create water out of the energy around them, and control water in the surrounding area (blood is not pure enough in elemental form to be influenced by water magic). The Muro also specialize in healing magic, as the hydraxus ocean isn’t the safest place, and Muro aren’t particularly stealthy in any capacity. they’re able to heal very complex diseases and wounds with ease, and in some cases can even perform physical alterations. Many Muro teach their healing ability as a form of trade. While Muro are skilled healers and water sorcerers, they have very little physical fighting ability, and are especially weak to sharp damage. On the rare occasions that the Muro fight, they use long coral tridents. Muro are not a particularly religious or spiritual, and are a much more philosophical people, but instead of hospitals small Muro villages with have Healing Churches. Muro tend to wear thick, warm, hooded robes when on the surface, as they get cold very easily. They’re very large and lose as to accommodate their wings. Muro may trade, but they do not take any form of coin, and will only barter for their wears. Their main exports are fish and seashells.
