While having no true government, they have individual but intercommunicating organizations whose structures and rulings are controlled by popular vote. Necessities are taken care of by said organizations, but material goods such as art can be bartered for. The Azara don’t tend to wear clothing as they have fur, however in cold weather or when traveling to Auralus they’ll wear clothing made from pelts. The Azara mostly keep to their own species, but when they do trade, their main trades are wood, meat, other food items such as berries, herbs, magical items such as Luma cards, gems, and a bright pink flower known as Vernaxia. When eaten in small amounts, Vernaxia causes users to experience dizziness, euphoria, and a dreamy mental state. But when eaten in large doses users experience vivid open eye hallucinations lasting for hours on end, and even ego death. The plant is even believed to, if channeled right with the proper magic, offer glimpses into the future, something normally only oracles (someone with decades of skill in psychic magic) can accomplish. Social bonds, and the social structure of living in groups is important to the Azara. The Azara live in large, colorful cities spread across the giant pine forests of Giaus, cities are organized in three rings, with the center being a large communal lodge for spiritual gathering and ceremonies. The first ring is entertainment based, restaurants shops theaters etc, the second ring is things like food suppliers, hospitals, and other necessities, and the third ring consists of living structures. The Azara value beauty over function, so buildings of the Azara are often decorative, with strange shapes, bright colors, and intricately carved with various carvings and reliefs. Buildings are wooded so the Azara are architecturally known for their extremely detailed wood carvings on almost every surface. The Azara have a concept known as a Gaebo. Gaebo is an old Azaran word literally meaning gift, but the term is used to mean a life mate. It is a known phenomena among the Azrara the Gaebo feel a psychic link, an Azara may have many possible Gaebo but once a pair has met one another the connection is felt immediately and strongly by both of them. When an Azra loses a Gaebo, they carry their body and or a symbolic object to the top of mount Dagaz and create a pyre and hold a vigil starting at sundown and held through the entire night. Letting out a special grief howl often heard at funerals. Pups are reared communally in these cities as well instead of schooling, however no rules are placed on cubs because the Azara believe pups must discover their own path in the world, and arbitrary boundaries would only impede this. Azara are very spiritual, as they believe reality is one with divinity, and communal spirituality plays a large role in their community. However they have no specific rules or doctrines, and their spiritual practices are only meant to increase communal connection, understanding the universe, and seeking enlightenment. High doses of Vernaxia and Luma Cards are often involved in many Azara rituals. As a final part of an oracles training, they’ll go to the top of mount Dagaz (a large mountain at the center of Giaus) with guides most of the way up, then when they reach the top they’ll go to the peak alone and take a large dose of Vernaxia and meditate to commune with their ancestors and reach enlightenment. Along with this sense of spirituality and community, the Azara believe the meaning of life is life itself, which combining all of these things means the Azara are known for art, music, and frequent and extravagant festivals. Azara are physically very capable fighters and possess the most strength and unarmed skill of the four races, and outside of magic they don’t use much in the way of weaponry aside from hunting spears and longbows. Magically speaking, the Azara specialize in two types of magic, nature magic, and psychic magic. Azara have the ability to manipulate the natural matter around them to their will, and summon natural objects using the energy around them. The Azara also have psychic abilities, and many practices in psychic magic, as the Azara are not only very spiritual, but alo naturally live a very personally interconnected lifestyle. Allowing them at high levels of practice to read into the emotions and memories of others, and even see glimpses of the future. Luma Cards, an invention of the Azara, are often used as training and or guiding tools towards seeing these glimpses or reading the subconscious of the self or others. Along with reading Luma cards, a skill passed down through the Azara is to read the stars and planets, and even navigate with them.
