Secret Life of Killer Croc

Life, Identity

Jenny Rollinson is kidnapped from her office, then rescued by Knight Thrasher.

The Mad Hatter set out to kidnap the head of one of the smaller tech companies in the Northeastern Seaboard area, and force her company Brice Corp to develop and turn over to him a new idea he has for making "frabjous toves". Harley Quinn, who is looking for a criminal partnership to replace the late Mr. J, offered to work as the Jubjub Bird on a caper. She thinks Jervis means that he has a design for animal-level "hats" that would let him control a swarm of critters.

Harley, however, after doing the research ahead of time into their intended target and her company's inventions, suspects Ms. Rollinson of secretly being The Batman's equipment supplier. She's pretty angry about it. And Jervis (being Jervis Tetch) misunderstood Harley's point as "Jennifer Rollinson = Batman".

To save herself from immediate death, and to buy time, hostage Jenny Rollinson insists that she's actually the secret identity of Killer Croc. And she uses one hand to pick up the front end of the Hattermobile, as her "proof". She says she has a whole animatronic costume that she keeps hidden away for when she's going out, and it has a built in voice changer.

By the time Knight Thrasher arrives to the rescue, Harley does not believe her at all. But Jervis does. Thrasher has to pretend to arrest "Croc" at the same time as he is actually arresting the Mad Hatter, and then arrange for "Croc" to get away.

Side note: Brice Corp does not (knowingly?) supply any technology to the Batman. They are, however, quietly associated with Project Deep Blue at the Eureka Settlement. Jenny Rollinson will go to some fairly hefty lengths to protect her hidden business partnership with one of the most impressive think tanks on the planet.
