Grip of the Mind Thieves, Chapter 4: Museum Rumble!

GREETINGS TRUE BELIEVERS!

Welcome back!

Last time, our heroes discovered Dr. Overmind had broken into their encrypted communication network! To counter that, they took the devices back to Tesla to get them re-encrypted with new security measures. Hopefully it would be enough!

Shortly after, Taki - with some guidance from Kara - met Bronze Tempest at Little Louie's Café and Pizzeria on the Northwest side of Central Park. The intent was to hand over an updated comlink. However! The ladies spotted something unsettling... SpecterCorp employees that looked to be affected by the orange ooze and therefore Dr. Overmind! The SpecterCorp team drove past the shop and into traffic.

The ladies jumped into action. A quick change later, and a call to their teammates, they gave chase! Meanwhile, the rest of the team scrambled to catch up with Taki and Bronze Tempest. The pursuit lead to tracking the van to the parking deck of Mt. Sinai medical complex! Right up to where there wasn't one SpecterCorp van with mesmerized occupants, but at least a dozen! But, it all proved to be a distraction.

One truck had covered its SpecterCorp logo and slipped out an exit. This one headed right for the Museum of New York! Fortunately, our heroes figured it out in time. Quickly leaving the parking deck, they raced to the museum. Moon Knight went in the front, while the others slipped in the back or entered through the roof.

At first, all seemed normal. Quiet. Then smoke erupted... from inside the exhibits! If that wasn't enough, Statesman tracked a package being handed off by Overmind-mesmerized victims. A package that scaled up a vent shaft. All. By. Itself!

Yet! Our heroes didn't have time to figure that out, as Moon Knight made the most startling discovery of all... two, yes two, battle ready combat droids were lying in wait in the main gallery! Our heroes had raced to the main floor to give Moon Knight backup just as the first droid opened fire on Moon Knight!

We've ringside seats to a rough and tumble matchup, True Believers! Will our heroes stop the droids before they damage the museum? The droids must be connected to Dr. Overmind in some way. It's too much of a coincidence that the droids are in a museum that is possibly a target of Dr. Overmind! But, what if it is a coincidence? Who owns the droids? Hammer Empire? AIM? Surely not the Disco Boys!

Hang onto your seats, True Believers! This may be a bumpy ride!

This is Not Stan Lee saying...

EXCELSIOR!

Goals

The members of Mouse Force were mutated by a strange orange ooze. This is the same formula invented by Dr. Killian and almost used by the Clock King to contaminate the local water supply. Orange ooze known to the team to be made from the ultra rare and mysterious Crystal Jade Vine plant.

However, formula made from the orange blossoms of the vine are known to be unstable. Meta powers they grant are often temporary and harmful! Therefore, the Knights Vigilant have to...

... find where the remainder of Dr. Killian's nefarious formula wound up? Is it in the hands of Dr. Overmind? Or someone of an equal amoral and criminal mind?

... deduce the secret of the ooze, or at least a cure, for their old friends, Mouse Force. Time may be running out for them! Will our heroes, the Knights Vigilant, find a way to help them?

... last, if the technological hand of Dr. Overmind is behind this, our heroes have to deduce his nefarious scheme and put a stop to it, before innocents are hurt!

Currently...

What is the mysterious orange ooze that seems to be at the source of these troubles? Will Dr. Isley discover something no one else has?

The investigation at Pier I turned up a discovery that someone had been lying in wait in a closed down news stand. But who? Were they caught on camera? And how were the other people hit that ambushed our heroes?

Then last ...

Our heroes have discovered Dr. Overmind is using the New York Times crossword puzzle as a guide to commit his crimes! But who is this "S. Sphinx" that submitted the puzzle to the newspaper?

Yet!

Is any of that important right now? Because at this very moment, our heroes are facing off with a dire situation... two SEVEN FOOT TALL combat ready droids inside the Museum of New York!
