The Hub

The Hub is a sprawling, three tiered city located in the equatorial region of Nigita. It appears to have a capacity of 100,000 inhabitants, but is not fully inhabited and was empty when first (re)discovered in January of 35ABY. It is structured approximately like a circular wedding cake, with each layer being approximately 20 stories above the next, divided into three "Tiers".

A ring wall surrounds the city at the ground level; the wall is several hundred meters thick and in the form of a large ramp. Atop the wall at each of the four cardinal directions are circular starport complexes where starship traffic arrives and departs. Here, too, are the exits from the wall into the outer world of Nigita: heavily defended by ground weapons emplacements and guarded by several sealable doors in tunnels below the starports, it is clear these edifices were meant for serious protection against outside intrusion into the city.

There are several emplacements for planetary-class turbolasers near the starports, but only the ones in the western starport (refurbished by the Vigil organization) and the eastern starport (refurbished by the Nigita government's planetary defense forces) have been reactivated; the others have had their energizer coils removed and need to be occupied and refurbished. Roadways lead from these starports into the ground level of the city: Tier One.

Tier 1

Tier One, which consists primarily of warehouse space, manufactories, and other industrial buildings, sprawls outwards from the center city to the road that circles the wall and the starports. Extending both upwards (to roughly 20 stories above the ground) and downwards (into numerous sublevels filled with machinery, reactors, sewers and waterways), Tier One is the heart of the infrastructure that the city requires to survive.   As Imperial doctrine required the conservation of ground space, the infrastructure of each subsequent tier forms the core of many of the central buildings. Vast networks of supports and power/water/waste conduits branch out from the core buildings, while open cargo lifts, some massive enough to move heavy tracked units and walkers, line the perimeter supports of each tier.   Tier One Locations of Note:
Starport D-Block - Currently restored and operated by the Vigil, who have restored Bays D-81 (Auriga), D-82 (Shuttles), D-83 (Fighters), and D-84 (Large Hulls - Currently VCS Hesperus)   Open-Air Market: There is a large open-air scrappers market in the "dustbowl" between the buildings that make up the majority of Tier One and the starport roads.   The Tree: There is a petrified tree reachable via hard-to-find passageways at the center of the first tier of the city.  It is a Force Nexus, and the headquarters of the Harmonium.

Tier 2

Tier Two, built on these supports which match the height of the tallest buildings of Tier One, consists of the majority of the residential and retail sections of the city. The elevated foundations provide a large "roof" for the central buildings and workspaces of Tier One, while two main ring roads--one at the edge of the support structure near the lifts and one circling the central supports of Tier Three--are linked by numerous allow ease of travel around this level of the city. It is still mostly uninhabited, but has recently been occupied by 15,000 refugee arrivals.   Tier Two Locations of Note:
The Hub General Hospital provides medical care to the citizens of the Hub, and was established by a group of Dathomiri witches.

Jandra's Watering Hole is a bar and cantina run by a Twi'lek female named Jandra.   The Tyrant's ship floats above the northeast section of Tier 2.

Tier 3

Tier Three, 20 stories above Tier Two and a full 40 stories above the ground level of Tier One, is the city center and the location of most of the businesses, office and governmental buildings of the Hub. It consists of the central core of the city, which is given over to the Nigita government administration, surrounded by four "districts" or "sectors":
  • The Independent District in the Northwest is the home of the various Independents that have created bases of operation in the Hub: Corporate Sector Authority, the Onderon Protectorate embassy complex, the headquarters of B.o.S.S. and other buildings given over to various large galatic and organizational concerns.
  • The Republic Remnant District in the Southwest not only provides a home to representatives of the still-rebuilding New Republic, but is also home to the Nigita branch of the Fuel Rats organization.
  • The Entertainment District, in the Northeast, is believed to be primarily and informally dominated by the various underworld factions (Scum & Villany) that have sprung up in the Hub. These include the Tegrala Syndicate and the droid organization known as Persistent Memory.
  • The Residential District, which is the largest and most populous, occupies the Southeast portion of Tier Three and is nearing full capacity. It is the place in which most of the population lives.

Tier Three Locations of Note:

The Barcrawl is the most popular watering hole in the city, a Sandcrawler modified to be a bar/restaurant/nightclub.

The Hothden Center for Detention and Rehabilitation is the headquarters of the Hub's law enforcement agency, the Nigita Rangers.

  Tease is a

The Snarky Sarlacc is a popular watering hole in the Republic sector for Republic-aligned individuals.
