The city of Therau

Therau is one of the two cities that The Faristan realm uses to trade with the eastern kingdoms.
For how important the city is, the actual living conditions are deplorable, the population recives meager payment for their services, live in compact houses and crime is a common ocurrance.
The docks are the only part of the city that is protected by the royal guard, so everybody tries to save enough money to move to the unreasonably expensive districts that suround it

Demographics

The richest people pay for the houses at the docks where the protection of the royal guard is easier to come by, while the western districts are where most of the population lives, and where the crime is rampant

Ruled by the current Count on behalf of the king

A huge wall surounds the city, when in the inside one can see the wood shacks os the common folk that sudently turn into opulent stone houses of the rich people on the western districts

Assets

The city Workshops work all day repairing the ships that sail from the docks, and the fishing is also a very profitable activity for the inhabitants

History

the city was founded after the conquering of the Galmidian kingdom, in the earlier years of the Faristan expansion, the legends say that the sige of King Faris the Mighty on the city of Tharsia was so devanstating and ruthless that the city was burned to a pile of ash. Given the importance of the port city the king decided to erect a new city in the same place that the old Tharsia stood, an so he founded the current Therau, as a reminder for the people of Gamidian that this land now belongs to him and the Faristan people
