Much has happened to the world since we most recently saw our last band of heroes. The
Dominion has thrived under the leader of King Artorius with Asa, his Queen, at his side. They have
established a new port city as a central hub of trade in the region, replacing the war-torn city of
Koswavia as the new economic powerhouse in the region. They are constantly plagued by attacks by the
demonic Gnoll hordes from the desert but manage to defend their borders and continue to grow. The
royal family search feverishly for a way to restore their friends’ lost souls that are tormented in the
legendary blade Screamhoarder. Meanwhile, the Dominion seems almost entirely devoid of bandits or
brigands. Rumors attribute this to a mysterious “Lord of the Bats” inflicting judicious vigilante
punishment upon criminals in the Dominion.
The Old One urged the dwarves of Dothadur to revolt against their tyrannical king. They had no
choice but to obey. A bloody civil war began, and the Dominion were swift in their efforts to support the dwarves, possibly in memory of Balgrimm, a close friend and party member of the Dominion’s current king. With enemies all around, the Dothadurian troops were swiftly defeated and the Dominion
assumed rule over their territory. Without the Order of the New Dawn to threaten its existence, the Old
One has grown quiet. The dwarves no longer feel the pull of its mind they once did.
Shaava and Eryn led the bands of southern refugees to what was once their home in an effort to
reclaim the land taken by the desert. They have re-established Storm’s Respite, although not in its
original location. The project has seen many setbacks, not the least of which being a concentrated attack
from the forces of Tevata, the Empress of Immolation. Despite grievous losses, the desperate defense of
the city has formed a myth that has become the seed of its own religious sect. The city is a lone point of
light in the dark seas the hug the south end of the continent. As the only safe port city, it sees a fair
amount of traffic which helps the population flourish. It is only a small step towards reclaiming their
home, but an important one nonetheless.
To the west, a new regime has been on the rise for quite some time. At the head of the Azunite
Covenant, Avareth the Almighty pushes his dominance. The human kingdom of Leyland is no more, and
it seems time is running out for the kingdom of Thessalia. Soon, the elves of the Edruniel Domain will be
forced into the conflict. Conflict with the elves of Edru seems to spell disaster for the Almighty Overlord.
The Edruniel Domain has been the ancestral home of elves since the beginning of time, and they have
never been ousted. The coming conflict will surely demonstrate the physics of an unstoppable force
meeting an immovable object.
