The Old Dead Sea

Why did the sea dry up? The ghosts of ancient beasts roam the land blocking the only caravan route through. Sometimes a new colossal carcass will appear causing quite the ruckus. What type of creature is it?Is it vaulable? Dead Sea Dragon? Giant Sea Turtle
Once a great ocean. Some say it dried up the day Okeanos was killed by the God Slayer. The ancient bones of colossal sea creatures dot the windblown landscape. Small islands of vegetation also dot the landscape these small oases sometimes have fresh water and fruit trees but be wary other things are attracted to them. Giant ghosts of sea leviathan swim the skies at night sometimes touching the word of the living. Strange noises can be heard and the sun sets on the Old Dead sea. There are very few safe ways to travel in the Old Dead Sea. There a few roads that are maintained but they offer smoother travel not safer.   The Council of Armagoss maintains the majority of the peace with the Old Dead Sea stopping all major threats to the basin. They protect travelers from the sudden storms, strange anomalies and all manner of strange beasts

Many desert creatures roam these lands, the ponds that are in the oases inside the Old Dead sea are home to a random assortment of water creatures that have appeared or fallen from one of the many strange storms that frequent the area.

History

The sea dried up when The God Slayer killed the god of Sea Okeanos, The sudden shock caused the water to disappear almost immediately. They say the stench from all the dead sea life attracted undead from all over the world and took years to dissipate, Swarms of flies and and other insects were so bad you could not breath.
