McKenna Moondall
You know what they say, pick a job you love and you'll realize you love nothing and all the light in the world has gone out. That's why I don't do... anything, professionally speaking.
Mekenna is the oldest child of famed Enchanter, Temax Moondall and sister to Riken Moondall. She was an accomplished thief, con artist and treasure hunter until she recently crossed paths with Heinreich Klamp in the township of Becklinberg. It's here she met the Scouts of the New Sanctuary Expedition. She and her brother are now tagging along with these scouts for as long as it suits them while she is learning a few new tricks from Cordelia Dathmor's patron, Tryxanna.
McKenna and Riken came into the world moments apart, though McKenna arrived first. A fact that she never lets her brother forget. While both of them have had each other since birth they lost their mother long before they could even form a memory of her face. Shoshana Moondall died shortly after giving birth. The effort and complications were too much for her body and without the magics of old there was nothing her husband or brother could do to save her. It was their father, Temax, that raised them and loved them with some help from Shoshana's older brother, Hannibal Seward.
McKenna's childhood was spent on the road with her father. Magic was part of the Moondall bloodline going back to before the The Queen's War. Moondalls were connected to the Leylines and able to use magic as an extension of their own minds and bodies. They were sorcerers and renown ones at that but The Queen's Rebuke killed many of her ancestors and cut off the survivors completely. The Moondall line withered into near extinction till all that remained was Temax and his children. The trio wandered the region around Lake Bask, Melanthris and Ghal Pelor looking for manacite and old artifacts that might provide some connection to the power of their ancestors. During these adventures Temax found enough manacite and magic to turn himself into an accomplished sorcerer who specialized in enchantment spells. The means by which he found his manacite and other relics though are highly dubious. A trait he may have passed down to McKenna and Riken.
MeKenna and Riken's early years were spent learning subterfuge, con artistry and performance from their father but it wasn't until Temax joined with Lutin Laplin and Heinreich Klamp that they were truly exposed to the excitement and dangers that Tairos had to offer. The trio of spell casters were able to target ancient sites of incredible value by combining their talents. The tombs of ancient Balmoral royalty, Melanthrian fortresses long abandoned, and even the old gnome empire in the now goblin infested northwest. While Riken became increasingly interested in alchemy McKenna remained committed to the art of the con and good old fashion burglary.
When Temax parted ways with Klamp and Laplin he continued to raise his children as best as he could while still pursuing magic. The Moondall's family adventures would last another decade or so on their own before the death of Temax. He and his children were among the many arcanists rounded up by Ghalrum Grannis to be turned over to his employers in Lockland or sold off to Cinderstone. During their escape attempt, Temax was wounded by Ghalrum and one of the dwarf's cruel mage-barb trackers embedded in his flesh. Temax took it upon himself to lead Ghalrum and his trackers away, sacrificing himself so McKenna and Riken could escape into the woods around Lake Bask.
The pair has been living on their own the last few years, roaming from village to village trying to make a quick few coins and staying ahead of Frial's constabulary and Ghalrum's mage hunters. They've made their fair share of enemies in the process but they've also gone out of their way to help out the common folk when possible; sharing excess wealth, food and safety and taking care not to let cruelty go unchecked. Something McKenna learned from her father and has held onto all her life. The amount of valuables she's stolen will never come close to the aid she's been given in return by those she stuck her neck out for
Current Status
The caravan scouts that defeated the cult of the Frog God seem like honest enough people to her; if somewhat disorganized and haphazard in their approach to problem-solving. She knows Klamp well and how dangerous he can be when he wishes. For now, the Westbound Star Company scouts willing to let her tag along with them, at least as far as Frial where she can decide who her next mark is going to be.
Shortly after the defeat of the Frog God, Cordelia Dathmor approached McKenna about the prospect of joining her in service to Tryxanna and becoming a Warlock. While she learned from her father and from Laplin how dangerous demonic entities can be, Tryxanna seemed different in a very genuine, approachable and somewhat petty way. The magic offered by the succubus seemed like it could be useful in her cons and keeping her and her brother alive on the open road. This fulfilled half of Cordelia's obligation to Tryxanna. She still must recruit at least one more warlock for the demon.

McKenna tries not to approach any situation with preconceived notions, stereotypes or dogmatic beliefs. She will generally choose to do the thing that causes the least harm to people or creates the greatest good but that still comes secondary to her consideration for her safety and that of her brother.

Social
Hobbies & Pets
McKenna has a pet plant creature known as a Leshy. This particular Leshy resembles a jack'o'lantern and regrows several days after any destruction it suffers. She found him in a pumpkin patch a little over a year ago. She suspects he's some kind of simple Fae creature and has been spending some time trying to teach it to be a pick pocket but so far it fails to obey most commands and usually responds with a wet, blurting, gurgle. She named it Wretch, mostly because of the vomit sounding grumbles and noises it makes.
Speech
McKenna speaks with a typical Ghal Peloran accent like her father though she is exceptionally good at mimicking regional human accents. A talent she uses for several cons.
