Tail Tales Universe

In this universe evolution took a mischievous turn in several planets; it seems that the anthropomorphic body configuration is quite successful, however adaptations occurred, yielding as a result populations of anthropomorphic animals.   Some civilizations have achieved superluminal speed interstellar travel through the Gates; these mysterious, stable wormholes litter the universe at apparently random points, weaved into a network that allows those with the technological resources and luck to have one close by to jump far away.   Naturally, each civilization has its own agenda, its culture and way to live, even in the same star system these differences can be very pronounced and frictions aren't uncommon, and while publicly there is peace, in the shadows looms the threat of interstellar war.   As if this wasn't sufficient, each world has its own problems to worry about, factions with different interests that have grown along the society of that planet seek dominion or representation, moving their forces within to try to win the favor of their society or come to control it by less legit means.   Not to mention, not all worlds are of the same technological capabilities. To protect the less advanced civilizations, there is an agreement of least interference, where the more advanced civilizations discourage or outright forbid visiting these primitive planets, although some visitors have made their way before anyways, earning either worship, fear, or in some cases, common lives in the planets.
