Prison hill

The prison hive is the only hive in the skat’ra plains not built by the skat'ra reoccupied and ancient building. Nobody knows who built this structure, but it is constructed entirely from metal, and none of the skat’ra can dig through it, making it an ideal prison for the deviants.

The skat’ra is the only nation where crime is almost non-existent. The mental rule of the queens makes it almost impossible for someone to have private thoughts. Those who, for whatever reason, still have are called deviants. Deviants can range from petty thieves to mass murderers. They only have one common feature. They all end up in the prison hive.

Not one queen rules the prison hive, but from time to time, all of them send her guards, usually warriors and sometimes a couple of sentinels. The queens have a monthly discussion about the prison hive, how it is doing, who will be the next to send guards, and is there anybody in the prison hive who can be let back to the skat’ra hives. Because this is the primary purpose of the prison hive. To help the deviants guide back to the hives under the rule of the queens.

Unfortunately for the queens, most of them are a lost cause. These are the murderers, cannibals, and other deprived skat’ra who don’t want to return. The rest who had only smaller issues can be guided back. Those who stole food, had private thoughts and committed similar crimes are not bad skat’ra. They are just misguided, and these are the ones the queens focus on most because they have a higher chance of being used again as resources for the hives.

The deviants are mostly content with their lives in the prison hive. Of course, there are always troublemakers, but the guards put them down quickly. In the history of the skat’ra, there was only one prison break that wiped out all the deviants except for a warrior, all the guards.
Life in prison is not easy, but it is better than the alternative
— Groth'try, skat'ra sentinel
