Groth'try
Groth’try is one those few skat'ra who has its own unique name. Earned it after the deviant prison uprising where it was the sole survivor. But that’s just half the story of Groth’try.
It was raised as a warrior of the Reen hill. After just two years it became a member of the Reen sentinels, and it was the member of the sentinels for 11 years. It is not unique but still an awe-inspiring feat. This was the time when the crazy princess of the Tered hill, Tered’Gaya, killed the first drone who was sent to her to mate with her so she can establish her own hill. Instead, she killed the first drone. Through her mental power, she gathered hundreds of workers around her, broke out from the hill, and lived on what the surroundings gave her, including dealers. She was chased away eventually from the hills, but the damage was done. The skat’ra couldn’t sell their silk and couldn’t buy food. Which caused a huge famine among the workers. Because the ruling from the queens was that food was given first to the queens, then the princess, then the lowly workers. They died by the thousand, and Groth’try couldn’t take it anymore. It gave food from the reserve to the workers, and this act made it a deviant because it went against the will of the queens.
Groth’try was put into the prison hill as all the other deviants who could be captured. Here Groth’try met with all the crazy and aberrant creatures different cultures are fully aware of, and it finally understood why every skat’ra must follow the queens’ will. Usually, if a skat’ra repents during its stay in prison, it will be released back to the hill it originates. But Groth’try didn’t have this luxury, and before its release, there was a prison break. It was a massacre on both sides. The prisoners had the numbers, but the guards were warriors. Groth’try was fighting on the warriors’ side as a true skat’ra, and in the end, it was the last who slew the last prisoner. The warriors who came to assist after the mental alert of the prison guards took Groth’try and took it to the nearest hill where the queens tried it. The queens knew his past but also felt shame about its past deeds. They also learned how the skat’ra who lived in the hive felt about Groth’try, the killer of the deviants. He became a hero in their thoughts.
Therefore, the queens made a strange decision. Other than the queens, nobody knew Groth’try’s past, so they transferred it to the Groth hill, which was the farthest from the hill it was raised, and nobody knew it there. They made it a warrior again and gave it a name so they could further solidify their rule over their subjects by showing them what happens to those who are against the queens and those who live by example.
After a year, Groth’try became a sentinel again, making its legacy even brighter. But it just prays to the queens that it will die before another famine happens among the skat’ra.
