Animal trainer's whip

Then every trainer had a whip to get their will through the animals. Many were just a normal whip. A few were magical and made the trainer's life easier. But there was only one which could dominate the ancestors of the lupian.

Regular whips could handle peaceful animals. If the trainer was good, bigger animals were added to the repertoire. The magical whips efficiently handled big cats and other wild animals. But only one could control aberrations, monsters, elementals, and even lower ranking demons and devils too.

All the whips were made from similar materials. The holder was made from wood or metal, and the tail from leather. Sometimes smaller metal pieces were added to the tail to make the whip lashes even more devastating and crueler. If a whip were magical, it usually had a faint glow so everybody in the audience could see that they saw something special, and every animal would have no chance of escaping. The one special whip was magical, but the trainer's cruelty, savagery, and fanatical obsession to dominate everything that moves seeped into his whip, making the whip extremely powerful and somewhat sentient.

This special whip was useless for smaller animals. Those just stood in place or died from the aura of fear emanating from the whip. Bigger animals, lions, rhinos, elephants, etc., were like kitty cats to the whip. But the specialty of the whip was monsters. These were the sweat spots for the whip when they feared it, retained their will but still could not do anything against it. The trainer's and the whip's last performance were with wildfire wolfs and overcold coyotes. They were a big hit. But then the cataclysm happened, and the monsters killed the trainer ending his lifelong cruelty.
