WorldEmber 2020 Plan for Success
Task 1: The Writing Space
Clean and un-cluttered!
Realistically, I should account for the space occupied by my work's laptop, but I will do my best to put it away as soon as my shift finishes.
The Essentials
- Music: Done! You can check my usual "Getting things done" playlists in the sidebar. I also added 's playlist which he mentioned on his Plan for Success article.
- Snacking: Having the eating habits of a songbird means I need my munchies to be nutritious at least. My granola reserves should last for at least 2 more weeks.
- Planned Distractions: "No distractions" is not a thing that works with me. Instead, I shall try to put in place distractions that keep me going, instead of those that make me wander to the forests of procrastination. My constant companion Nica the tail-less cat died recently, and getting her skull from the skulls shelf down to the desk will give me back my focus when I lose it
- Mental Health: I put my pieces together, I got the help I needed and I arranged my support groups.
Task 2: How fast do i work?
The "Sprint" Version
When doing 15 minutes sprints, I tend to write around 260 words, ~17 words per minute.Information taken from 3 previously-done 15 minutes sprints:
Sprint 1: 277 words
Sprint 2: 240 words
Sprint 3: 275 words
The "I am very excited about this prompt" version
When writing a whole article that I am excited (and time-constricted) about, I can write, proofread, and polish an ~800 words article in around 2 and a half hours, with lots of distractions to be accounted for, based on the article that I did for the "Shops named with puns" Flash Challenge. That gets me down to a dissapointing 5 words a minute, but removing the distractions, and considering that I have the topics, information and pictures already set, and that I am not aiming at full-fledged finished articles, I should be able to do much better than that.
That Baphomet (if I'm not mistaken) statue makes the workspace awesome ;)
A Baphomet statue indeed! It took some time to get it, but it was totally worth it. It's my reminder to myself before others once in a while! Thank you for your comment :)
