"To You, My Muse"

... I saw you frown, then smile, gentle hands leading down a gentle path.   How I wished to hold those hands! To follow along a step behind and guard you as you led.   -Excerpt from "To You, My Muse"
"To You, My Muse" is a collection of the poems written by Xelarian De-Hobve about (and eventually to) Elira Cycliha (better known as the wordwitch Elira). The title is an homage to the famous Orcish courting poetry collection by Ghorab Xellroot to her future wife, Ruby Fier, which also was led with a poem of the same name.   The collection serves as an artistic chronicle to the resolution of the Barrier Crisis , when the magic that formed a protected shell around Talthei's world showed signs of weakening in response to the actions of a rouge sect of The Circle of Seekers .   The collection is organized in chronological order, with a foreword from Xelarian explaining his outlet, and an afterword from Elira, famously ending with the proposal:
You have seen all my sweetest words, so instead I'll be blunt: Xel, you are my forever favorite. May we make many more great works together.

Purpose

"To You, My Muse" was originally a collection of loose poems written by Xelarian De-Hobve regarding his admiration and eventual love for the wordwitch Elira, eventually found by Elira and bound into a collection.

Historical Details

Legacy

"To You, My Muse", while praised as a lovely depiction of a bond growing between two very different individuals, is also considered a primary historical source for the ending of the Barrier Crisis. While not the primary focus, major events such as the discovery of Muyae's testament and the reinvigoration of the layer of gnosis are depicted in a first-hand account rarely observed for such events.
