Night Queen

One of the earliest recorded superheroes, she lived in the mid 1800s and began her career as something of a thief. There were certainly others before her, but her career marked the idea of superpowers coming into the mainstream and being acknowledged as not being witchcraft, and as being more scientific than mystical.

History is unclear as to what her powers actually were, and extremely vague as to who she could have been. The most likely option was some kind of superspeed.
