Mental Defenses

In this modern day and age, it's important to have at least some form of psychic defenses in place in one's mind. These can form from a variety of things, and be intended for a number of purposes. Defense against telepathic intrusion is one thing, and defenses from the corners of one's own mind is something that exists on a surprisingly similar track.
These defenses can be constructed in a variety of ways. Those without psychic potential can have them built by those with it. In that case it's usually an unconscious automatic thing that happens. Usually, though, there is some kind of mental visualization component.
In the case of active defenses of the subconscious, this usually manifests as weapons and traps and such.
In the case of memory preservation, it typically shows as an array of informational materials. Some people build mental libraries, while others build huge mansions, or collect photos that trigger those memories.
In my own case, it's something like a storm, with information too chaotic to properly contain, and indeed I don't usually want to. Within this storm are doors, some of which are meant to be accessed, and one of which is a permanent bastion of my mental defenses which even I cannot breach.
