Mr Radiation is either a bad villain or a really confused hero. He can (and usually does) talk eloquently about the wonders of radioactivity. He once appeared on TV and gave a lecture titled "How radiation will save mankind."

Claims to have gained his powers when his mother was pregnant and she 'Was the only survivor of the terrible holocaust of Indian Point that killed millions." The fact there there has NEVER been any nuclear explosion there and that in 1956 Indian Point (in NY on the Hudson river) was simply a rundown amusement park (I bet no one reading this knew that!) and wouldn't see its first reactor for 7 years is something he refuses to acknowledge.

New York state calls him 'Mildly delusional but a good person. to be watched CLOSELY." The U.S. government calls "Confused but useful." His mother (who lives in Vermont and has never even been to NY) calls him Philip.

For all his eccentricities he is a good person and served well and courageously during the Rikti war. He joined Team Excelsior (the New York State super team) in 1991 and has served there ever since. Ironically enough he is banned from the Indian Point energy center. But all supers with radiation are banned from it too.

New Yorkers for the most part have taken a liking to him even if most think he is nuts. But then again NY city has always had a place for the eccentrics.
