How long there has been a Mother Russia is unknown. Some old Russian legends speak of her as far back as the 15th century. No one super has as much controversy then Mother Russia. She has come to symbolize Russia itself and over the years has fought for Russia regardless of the government. Mother Russia is not one person but many who have carried the title over the years. No one is sure exactly HOW the next Mother Russia is chosen. Simply that the woman chosen gains the powers. This is believed to be the concept that she is the physical embodiment of the Russian people themselves. when that woman's time of service is done the powers pass to another woman.


Exactly how many women have been Mother Russia remains controversial and people are forever arguing the numbers. This is a result of decades of Soviet secrecy and propaganda. It is known that during the Russian civil war of 1918 there were TWO Mother Russia's (White and Red), which is in a way fitting since Russia was divided between White and Red.

The simple method for identifying individual ones is the year they are first seen. The Mother Russia show above (in 1945) was first identified in 1941 and is called MR41.


MR1900? - No solid information but suspected based on a description of Mother Russia in 1900 doesn't match MR1914.
MR1914 - First confirmed. Killed fighting the Germans in 1918.
MR1918R - The communist Mother Russia.
MR1918W - The white Mother Russia., Confirmed killed 1920 by MR1918R and never replaced.
MR1925 - Exact date of her retirement is unknown. Suspected that she was killed by the NKVD during the purges.
MR1930 - Suspected but not confirmed as there is not enough information but again her description doesn't match MR1925 or MR1937.
MR1937 - Served until 1940 when she married and was tired of 'fighting the world'.
MR1940 - The saddest of all the Mother Russia's. This was a girl (17 years old) named Irena Svedlanov. She had been MR for barely a year when the Germans invaded. Ambushed by members of the Storm Korp - she vanished. After the war Doppelsoldner confirmed her death and supplied Russian authorities with the location of her body. He also gave a detailed account of her heroic fight to the death. He called her 'A brave woman and a fine soldier'.
MR1941 - This is MR1937 who came out of retirement and served again till 1953.
MR1953 - served until 1967
MR1967 - Retired and married suddenly. Her daughter is Sapphire - the Russian heroine.
MR1973 - served till 1994 - This lady had the hard job of serving during the breakup of the Soviet Union. It is notable that during the attempted coup she fought against the coup.
MR1994 - Current Mother Russia. Served with considerable skill during the Rickti invasion.
