Information on this super is confused. But one way to describe him is persistent.
He is named after the famous Iron Wolf from the legend of the founding of Vilnius,. He claims to be THE Iron Wolf of that legend and therefore at least 700 years old. There are reports of Teutonic knights clashing with a 'wolf of great power'. He first came to light in 1918 when Lithuania gained independence after WW1. Over the years he tangled with the Russians (imperial, White and communist), the Poles and the Germans. But his longest lasting enemy was the Soviet Union. When the Soviets occupied the country in 1939 he fought the Soviet supers ferociously. The battle raged all over Vilnius for two days before he seemed to have been killed. Yet he reappeared several months later still fighting the Russians. The super team was called back in and after a bloody fight again declared him dead. Yet again he reappeared a few months later.
When the Germans invaded in 1941 he sided with them or at least he concentrated his attacks on the Soviets. Doppelsolder in his memoirs described him as "Neither an ally nor enemy of German but a good personal friend." When the Russians returned to Lithuania so did the supers too and they concentrated on him. For over a decade he fought along side the anti-soviet guerrilla's but when they were crushed he fought on alone.
From 1944 to 1988 he remained a reoccurring if controllable problem. He would appear, there would be a wild fight, sometimes his guerrilla campaigns would last for weeks before he was declared dead. Then things would quiet down sometimes for months or even years before he reappeared. The CIA estimates that the Soviets declared him dead at least 6 times before finally trying to suppress ALL information on him. This of course only made him even more popular with the Lithuanians. It became so much of a reoccurring issue that rumor has it there was a standing Betting Pool run by people in Pentagon Intelligence Corp.
In the 1980's when the independence movement gained strength in Lithuania he became even more active and clashed with soviet supers on an almost daily basis. It all came to a head during January 11 to 13 1991 when Soviet military units moved against Lithuania. He was attacked by a large supers team and after a wild battle in, above and around Vilnius he defeated all 7 members of the communist team.
Since independence he has become a common sight in the country and is a media star and hero. He has fought villains, monsters and all manner of problems but his die hard enemy remains the Russians. He has clashed with various Russian supers repeatedly over the years. Recently the two governments have finally gotten the supers to back off and leave each other alone. But still there is a lot of animosity between him and the Russian teams. He was offered a spot on the NATO super team but refused. He has trained alongside them on numerous occasions and has ironically become friends with Doppelsolder 3 - the grandson of the original one he knew back in WW2. When the Rikti attacked he fought ferociously and seemed to have been killed at least three times.
He claims to be the living embodiment of Lithuania and is as old as the people of Lithuania. One Russian report agrees with that calling him the Lithuanian version of their famous Mother Russia. Ironically he and Mother Russia have never fought. The report called the idea "Unwise on an apocalyptic level'.
Whatever his origins he remains the symbol of a resurgent Lithuania and ready to defend her against all threats.
