Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Like a blade to a whetstone, dancing has honed Kestrel's body into one of lithe muscle. Though nothing about him is broad his shoulders are the widest part of his body, whittling down to a slender waist and powerful legs. Like most tieflings, Kestrel has a tail. His is light, flicking about like a cat's, and ends in the shape of an arrowhead.
Body Features
Kestrel's most distinct feature is by far his horns, curled like that of a ram's, yet iridescent purple in hue. His horns are his crown and he wears them with pride, the very same pride with which he embraces his identity as a tiefling. To bring yet more attention to them he decorates them with ornate jewelry – ribbons, flowers, bejeweled horn rings, and delicate chains dripping with gems. Much to his embarrassment his right horn tip was cracked and chipped off during an assault, so he hides this by wearing horn covers forged out of gold.
For a tiefling Kestrel's skin is rather fair, naturally a blush pink. As a child, he developed vitiligo, a condition that has caused patches of his skin to pale to the color of pearls. This vitiligo also affects his hair, streaking some patches white that were once naturally blond.
Facial Features
With thick loose curls and delicate features, Kestrel looks like something out of a Botticelli painting. His heart-shaped face is framed by platinum blond hair and stern, earnest brows. His wide eyes are intensely expressive – one moment brimming with childlike wonder, the next, flashing with coquettish glee. Naturally, his eyes are pale gold in hue yet glitter in shifting opalescence, almost catlike in quality.
Physical quirks
Kestrel's gait is light and flighty, sometimes even dancing in his footsteps. His posture varies wildly depending on the situation he's in. Normally he holds himself with poise, his shoulders back and his head held high, something he learned as an entertainer and courtesan. All that changes when he's in comfortable company, slouching and leaning against whatever is closest, even people. He's particularly averse to sitting in a chair properly, preferring to perch atop tables, lounge on the floor, or occasionally even commandeer a friend's lap.

Though talkative, Kestrel almost says more with his body than he does with his voice. Not unlike a cat his eyes change according to light level, round and almost completely black in dark rooms, yet naught but a slit in bright light. Regardless of light, his eyes also express emotions Kestrel would sometimes rather leave unspoken. When excited or overjoyed Kestrel's pupils go wide, but fear and anxiety turn them into slits.

As a tiefling his ears are equally expressive – popping upright in curiosity, drooping down in sadness, yet pinning back in fear. Due to the ornate earrings he adorns himself with he sometimes causes a jingle when his ears suddenly swivel about.

Kestrel's tail is his most obvious tell of all, one only needs to see his silhouette to know how he's feeling. Sometimes he uses it for balance, other times like a fifth limb, but it's always flicking about. When he's frightened he wraps his tail around one of his legs to keep it close, like a built-in security blanket. His tail twitches with interest and flicks around in excitement. When angered he thrashes it in a clear sign of frustration.Mental characteristics
Gender Identity
[ he/him, they/them ] Kestrel sees gender as a hollow construct, though he can see why it matters to other people in his eyes it is meaningless. He believes in fluidity and has an affinity for the androgynous. He isn't fussy about his pronouns – though he goes by he/him or they/them he actually finds being mistaken for a girl rather flattering. All the female and feminine dancers and courtesans he works with are, in his opinion, stunning.
Sexuality
[ pan ] Kestrel is incredibly attracted to the intersection of masculinity and feminity. He finds bodies in general beautiful, the smooth sloping lines of muscle or the soft curves of a hip, and enjoys the company of men, women, and everything in between. In Kestrel's eyes there is beauty in all bodies, but he especially loves strong shoulders, plush lips, and bright intelligent eyes.
Education
Though Kestrel grew up without access to schooling his adoptive mothers took great lengths to ensure he was educated nonetheless.
Employment
Primarily Kestrel is employed as a dancer at The Reverie in Feverlight, Sunshade, but his job entails more than simply performing on stage. Like most dance halls in Sunshade The Reverie operates as a dreamer's den during the day, transforming into a club at night. During the day he acts as a dream tender, WIP

Like many of the dancers he works with, Kestrel has devoted himself to the goddesses Leira and Lliira. Leira is the goddess of sensuality and illusions, whereas Lliira holds domain over joy. Thanks to his mothers Kestrel praises a patchwork of gods and goddesses who span across cultures and countries.
