Mu Khan Character in Sundered Lands | World Anvil

Mu Khan

A man of advancing middle years, he is dressed in an amazing waistcoat, embroidered with a vista of misty mountains. It looks as if a window had been opened on the view, until he moves. A high-quality clothier, he makes custom work. Khan is able to command prices of over a hundred and twenty gil plates for a single high-quality robe.   Khan stitched a high-quality robe for the The Steel River. The robe had an interlocking design of crashing river waves around the cuffs and hem. When a piece of the robe was left behind at the scene of the theft of the Scrolls of Juzo Suko from the House of Cats Library, the embroidery was traced back to Khan, who was able to immediately identify it as his own work despite the damage, but kept his customer's identity secret.   Mu Khan's shop is located in the most exclusive section of the market, where his family works with him to create exclusive designs, fabrics and garments. His upstairs office contains sample books with the exclusive designs for special customers, and his order book contains the details for around two hundred and fifty customers able to match his prices. Although he encodes his customers' private information, Mortimer Thornehaven was able to use the swatch book to find the design he used for the Steel River, and from that identify the coded record of the River's personal information. The House of Cats' investigators were then able to crack the code and discover the River's address.
