Regis Vey Loun, Alnea

  • Regis Vey Loun, born in 1810 in the small town of Pleasants, was never a good kid. He lied, stole, and beat anyone who crossed his path. When he was 9 years old, he was already as strong as an adult and was feared by everyone in town.
  • Luck was always on his side, and he knew it. He could easily get out of trouble, and he used his talent without remorse.
  • In 1821, when he was just 11 years old, he killed an old man who got on his bad side. Instead of jailing him, the court banished him from Pleasants, and he was left to roam the great Transnational Highway, and let loose upon the rest of the world. Regis remained on the highways for the rest of his life, robbing carts and convoys.
  • Not only was he a lying, cheating, murderous criminal, he also led a gang and owned a few taverns and hotels he bought with stolen gold. His gang was called the “Gold Getters,” and were notoriously famous for their daring robberies.
  • In 1843, the Gold Getters pulled off their most impressive robbery, managing to disguise themselves as a local militia and offered their services to the Transnational Trading Company as a guard to a newly build storehouse that contained 200,000 gold worth of rare materials, including the Timestopping Pocketwatch that was traveling incognito to a western king. After gaining the TCC’s trust, they betrayed them and stole everything except a few crates of what they thought to be worthless. Luckily, they left the pocket watch behind.

The Death of Regis Loun

  • Perhaps the most well-known aspect of Regis was his public execution in 1868 in the capital of Risat, Verifa.
  • When Regis was finally caught, his luck ran out and the courts of Verifa found him guilty of enough crimes to warrant a public execution, which at the time was extremely rare.
  • Because of Regis’ infamy, the execution became a “must watch” show, and as such, the actual execution was far from normal.
  • Instead of the normal execution method, the city of Verifa put on a 12 hour preformance, which included brutal torture of Regis, using a Healer Ultima to bring him back from the dead multiple times before allowing him to die.
