Blood of Vol

Nothing is More Important Than Family

“Life is pain, a ceaseless struggle against hunger, disease, and despair.
Every day we're one step closer to the grave, and all that lies beyond is Dollurh and the disintegration of the soul.
What just God would create such a world?
What benevolent sovereign would condemn their creations to such misery?
But what if mortality is something that can be overcome?
Perhaps we all have a spark of divinity within us... a spark that can become a force to rival the Silver Flame.
Perhaps one day we can end the cycle of death and misery, so all can live long enough to find their divinity within.
Until then, the best we can do is hold our family and friends close, defy cruel fate, and fight to live as long as we can.
The universe is against us, and all we have is each other.”
-Minerva Vol

The Fall of a Great House

The attack upon the Collegium and betrayal of the Vol household brought forth a new faith known as the Blood of Vol.   A faith formed by blending the traditions of both Aernal elf and human to challenge the curse of mortality.

Immoral Mortality

Followers of the faith are known as Seekers of the Divinity WithinSeekers for short—and seen as a death cult, but not all followers are evil. They challenge the benevolence of the Sovereigns, thus are shunned for their beliefs.   Their vocal support for necromancy and protection of undead has made them vital enemies with the Silver Flame.   Seekers do not revere the idea of death and any reverence for corpses. The divinity within is tied to life and soul, and if both are gone then all that’s left is flesh and bone.   They don’t seek undeath, but a way to bound soul and flesh as one. Those who become undead are often seen as martyrs for the cause.

The Importance of Family

Yet, this faith is the epitome of friendship, family and community. The rejection of gods only means that the only thing you must rely on is your family and friends. Seekers often have strong community bonds and would never betray one another for credits of livelihood.   When the priests of the Sovereigns reject revival services, the Seekers provide succor. Often advising the family, and never forcing them.   Seekers are often in good favors with the frontiers of Paradenia. As their faith spreads, so too does the undead.   As the faith is more known, there are many branches from the core beliefs.
Order of the Emerald Claw
The Order of the Emerald Claw is an elite arcane militia force that is comprised of devoted seekers.   Their actions against the Collegium have painted all Seekers in a bad light.
Bloodsails
The Bloodsails are Aereni elves that were exiled from the capitols.   They seek immortality through undeath than the divinity within.

...Controversial of Faiths...

The faith is strown in controversy and created deeper rifts between the people of the Frontiers and citizens of the capitols.   But is it truly the Seekers at fault?   After all, the capitols never cared much for the people who lived in the Frontiers rather than the settlement’s resources themselves.
