Lepiree's Hanging Port

Overview

History

Foundation

The Hanging Port has been founded officially on 1861, but has been officially created as a little space station from an Aerk Polydore wreck. It is mainly known for the petrochemical industry, translation of resources between the Neuralgic Center and the Bottom Peripherals, but also general cargo transshipment handling. The harbour functions as an important transit point for transport of bulk and other goods from the port and all the Bottom Peripherals. From the Hanging Port, goods are transported by spacecrafts mainly, including Aerk Polydores. Since 1902 the Floating Way, a fast cargo railway from all around Lepiree, has been under construction. The core railway opened on 1909 on over 6000km length. Large oil refineries are located west of the city due to a huge human implementation with gigantic petrol veins.

Growth

Over the years following the foundation, the port was further developed seaward by building new docks and space harbors. The hanging port territory has been enlarged by the construction of the numerous Aerk Polydores hangars and docking bays, from the words of the Praetor of these years.

A Growth much coveted

The place is much coveted, and piracy was known around that sector, leading to a huge place for black market trades, it was at the periphery of the high systems. Tenses getting higher before Cortes buy the port. After this, he places a higher security and merchandise check, leading to be one of the most safiest place within kilometers. In 2420, the port has been the target from huge pirates and mercenaries attacks, they learned that the young Consortium was behind the attack, to attract Cortes leaders. At last they traded about something which still hidden from everyone, but for sure it's links to the Consortium's ships which are stationed within the station. This place is now in Consortium's influence, and the CSUN can't really change it, avoiding a open war, which they easily win, but the Shadow War made the CSUN leaders to reconsider the idea to attack.   Nowadays the Port is still under Cortes's control, but the Consortium is always nearby to patrol or just station their ships for hours or days.
