Crown of the Arcane Commander Item in Stelair | World Anvil

Crown of the Arcane Commander

Power flows through me, Power flows through the crown, Power flows back to me, Then we burn it down,   -Excerpt from the poem "A Woman of Iro"

Manufacturing process

The lead is used to create the circular lead plate which functions as the mounting plate for all the gems. All the gems were then fitted to the lead crown in a specific arrangement. Then deep paths were carved into the plate that lead from gem to gem in a specific pattern. The paths were then filled with molten platinum and waited to cool.

Significance

Arcane Amplifiers are in wide use across the world. However the @Tinkerer's Circle is by far the most knowledgeable of the nuisances of the technology. Their fierce guarding of that knowledge is the main reason why wide understanding on how the gem and crystal balancing is not known. This is what makes this item so valuable.   A gnome by the name Kindra Aurafield, an inventor within the Tinkerer's Circle, was able to create a near perfectly balanced amplifier. Normally amplifiers would need to be tuned to a specific task or type of magic depending on the types of stones used for channeling. But Kindra was able to find a balanced combination so any sort of magic could be channeled through the crown and boost the users power tenfold.   Not content for her discovery to be locked away by the Tinkerer's Circle she defected with her invention and tried to flee from their reaches. She was successful in escaping the Gnomelands but reportedly the airship she was fleeing on was attacked by sky pirates. There were no survivors of the attack.
