Xethryn
Grand Speaker Xethryn lor Eschir (a.k.a. Xethryn)
His final essay On the Human Approach was published on the tenth anniversary of his death in 2272, edited and prefaced by Ona Vox. On the Human Approach is also Xethryn's reflection on his service as humanity's envoy.
Xethryn was one of the first alien individuals to live amongst humans, electing to make his residence in the Luna Colony on Earth's moon with his spouse Alejeme mel Dabor and their five children, two of whom, Cetezjthe and Urajheri, he bore. In spite of living among humans, Xethryn resisted assimilating and maintained his Ocorian culture and customs for the entirety of his life. Like most Ocorians, Xethryn's sex was sequential, but unlike a lot of Ocorians he did not have a fluid gender identity. Xethryn identified as Zukjaru or 'masculine' even in his bearing state. Even so, he was known to joke about being the 'mother' of the two children he bore.
Biography
Early Life
Xethryn was born in 2089 in the Eastern city of Hefhijleden to parents Sanfhe lor Eschir and Hendjru lor Genjre. Xethryn was the third after two siblings, and would become the middle of five.Xethryn was accepted to the Nathjenil Institute of Itzejhema in 2110, and joined the Dazjehli School studying xenoanthropology a year later. However, professors noted that he 'lacked enthusiasm for his studies' and urged transfer after a few terms.
In 2113, Xethryn met Alejeme mel Dabor, a xenolinguistics student at the Eleijl dat Muarja School of Communication. Two months after meeting her, Xethryn transferred to the dat Muarja School - accepting partial honours in xenoanthropology - and focusing upon mediation. Another two months later, Xethryn and Alejeme were married and moved out of their respective dorms to live together in the city. Alejeme graduated a year later.
Xethryn continued to study mediation, though he struggled greatly with the conflict resolution simulations and achieved only double honours when he finally graduated in 2116. Alejeme and Xethryn moved to Methejinen with their child Efhjezi, whom Alejeme bore in 2115, following her employment as a translator for a cargo firm.
Career as a Mediator
Xethryn began his career as a domestic mediator, working non-criminal disputes and civil matters, and also bearing professional witness to marriages, business matters, and registrations of births and deaths. He continued to study xenoanthropology of his own accord, and also reviewed the portions of his schooling on peaceful diplomacy.By 2120 Xethryn's independent study of xenoanthropology had bolstered his partial honours to a single honours qualification, and remote review increased his double honours in mediation to an honours with merit. At this time, Alejeme's employment contract was ending and they had decided to move away from Methejinen due to disliking the city's heavy industrialisation. As they were hoping to move to Ischijelira, the couple had begun seeking long-term contracts of employment in the capital.
Struggling to find civil domestic mediation positions with contracts of over seven months that would provide enough financial incentive, Xethryn applied to work for the Sanjer Outreach - apparently on a whim according to his later autobiography.

History
Xethryn and Kaerde Jas met when Xethryn was made the Sanjer Outreach's ambassadorial envoy to humanity in 2130. Having served as the Aquarian ambassador for a year, Kaerde Jas worked with Xethryn to establish the Outreach's relationship with the Earth's governments. Subsequently, the two ambassadors became close friends - and their friendship grew further as Kaerde Jas spent a decade working out of the Outreach's embassy building while waiting on the long-delayed completion of the Aquarian embassy.
Xethryn officiated Kaerde Jas's marriage to their spouse Leisi Reisan in 2142.
Upon Kaerde Jas's tragic death in 2178, Xethryn expressed his grief in a rare candid statement. When Xethryn's family were gifted a great dane puppy in 2179, the dog was named K.J. (pronounced 'Kay-Hay') in Kaerje Jas's honour.
Nicknames & Petnames
Xethryn often wrote of Kaerde Jas as 'K.J.R.' in his journals, though he is not known to have called them this directly. Kaerde Jas was probably one of the first people to shorten Xethryn's name to 'Xeth'.
