Diana-class Corvette

The Diana-class is an old design, but its cheap construction and low crew requirement makes it popular for filling out fleets in the Solar Union, or for copying by desperate Brinkers. The Diana is essentially a large cannon with the skeleton of a spaceship wrapped around the exterior. A four-man crew operates the corvette with the aid of extensive automation, keeping habitability requirements to a minimum. Though essentially incapable of self-defense, the main gun is able to severely damage or even mission-kill a cruiser, and the Union operates Diana-class vessels in swarms to ensure success. Those assigned to these vessels typically bring with them their own brand of daring, competing with one another for kill counts and dodged fire.
