The Hivestone

a strange artifact in shape of a primitive Sliver coiling around stone obelisk. It has the ability to control and command Slivers via their collective hivemind. However the range of the Hivestone's affects are only on a planet's surface and can only a mile into the planet's crust of the equal depth of the sea. These artifacts seem to have an limitless power source unless it is damaged.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

the material that makes up the artifact's shell acts as a broadcaster for the special Brainwave signals of Slivers. its affects only occurs within the planet's atmosphere due to the fact the nanites and their fuel source further spread the affect all other the planet.

Manufacturing process

Without knowing what the core is made of or how it works also makes it makes it hard to duplicate. Even the ratio of Living steel, Silver, and Naquadah, to make the shell is nearly impossible to guess without gaining a sizeable sample.

Significance

Culturally and historically these artifacts remind the people of a very hostile and dark time in the history of the galaxy,
