Francis Pierson, the Falcon

Summary

Francis Pierson, or, the Falcon, is a pragmatic and ruthless freedom fighter, and the leader of The Silverhawks. Known for his sharp wit, silver tongue, and devious cunning, he leads his band of renegades in a fight to reclaim the Dweller's independence from outsiders, and establish them as a galactic force to be reckoned with.

Personality

The Falcon is a confrontational and aggressive person, determined to accomplish his goals and get payback on those who wronged him. To his friends, family, and allies, he comes off as very agreeable and polite, but those who really know him can tell he has a short fuse and could blow up at any moment. Despite his temper, with the right people by his side, Falcon is capable of grace under pressure, making tough decisions and standing by them.

Role in the Silverhawks

The Falcon serves as the leader for the Silverhawks, being the one to primarily interact with the public, and acting as the ultimate authority on their strategies and objectives. He currently focuses on leading the search for the fragments of the Entropy Core.

Early Life

Francis was born on the planet of Lonkao. Born to wealthy parents in 3374, he lived a life of luxury until the age of 6, when The Sebonov Retaliation killed his parents, being the only member of his family able to secure passage on the last evacuation vessel.   With nowhere to go, he was taken in by a commune on Tetryke II, where he would be adopted by Ronnie and Teresa Meyers, the former of whom was a DDF pilot, and the latter a mechanical engineer. Sensing his innate rage towards the Thesk, the two decided the best course of action would be for Ronnie to train him as an apprentice, and funnel that anger towards something constructive.   Initially, Francis was a bit of a dissapointment. He routinely scored a D-Rank in the piloting simulators, and his shaky hands prevented him from hitting the broad end of a barn with firearms. Seeing his lackluster performance, but believing in his potential, Ronnie approached Francis after a particularly rough day of training. Comforting him as he sobbed on the steps of their home, Ronnie told Francis he knew he'd be able to find a way.   And find a way he did. Francis would stay strapped into the piloting sim day and night, oftentimes falling asleep with the helmet on, and resuming is training when he woke up the next day. Though his coordination remained shoddy, he eventually developed a repertoire of feints and deceptive maneuvers that left vessels exposed to decisive ambushes to compensate, and by the time he was twelve, he achieved Ace rank in the simulator.   This alone was enough to make him eligible for service in the DDF. At the age of 13, Francis shipped off to Egawa to undergo the mandatory training. During the initial phase, he just barely passed, and throughout the regimen he was nearly hospitalized numerous times due to his underwhelming physique.   Despite the hardship, by the end of his training, he was in far better condition, instilled with discipline, and awarded with the title of Patrolman. Hearing the news, Ronnie invited him back home, saying he had a surprise. As his transport shuttle landed by their home, Francis was greeted by his adoptive parents, who hugged him tight and brought him inside.   After having dinner together, where Francis told his parents all about training at the academy, Ronnie asked him to come to the garage. As they entered, the lights came on, and Ronnie's old interceptor, the Millenium, sat in the center of the room, with a big red bow on it. Teary-eyed, Ronnie told Francis how proud he was of his boy, and that he wanted him to carry on his legacy, holding out the keys. Vowing to make him proud, Francis hugged his dad, told him he'd come visit whenever he could, and set off into the stars.

Notable Accomplishments

The Athim Standoff
Francis Pierson prevented the construction of a gas extraction facility on the planet of Athim in 3391 by threatening to arrest those involved. The overseer, laughing in his face, ordered his mercenaries to murder him. Unfortunately for them, he was talking to them through a holographic decoy, while he was still aboard the Millenium.   Swooping down from above within an instant, with a two-tonne railgun pointed at them, Francis demanded their immediate surrender, or he would obliterate them. After arresting everyone involved, Francis was awarded the title of the Falcon, and given a squad to command, which he titled the Silverhawks.
The Soton Raid
The Silverhawks descended upon Soton in 3392, targeting the headquarters of ██████ in a warrant-less, no-knock raid. Eradicating anyone who stood in their path, they stormed the board-room of the facility, dragging everyone inside out into the open, and executing them. These actions, while applauded by many, lead to their disavowment by the DDF, and their official status as renegades.
