Verinia and her brother Trad were put into stasis in 12704 (at ages 10 and 8 respectively) to protect them from the House Vormecetti-led Purge. They were found and recovered early in 12723 when the calendar would have had them aged 29 and 27, but of course they were still physically and mentally children.

Complicating the legal ramifications of this situation: any precedents set on the Vorpelagia siblings would also apply to the Imperial siblings, and vice versa.

Everyone seems to have agreed that they will simply not bring up the topic. Verinia and Trad will be treated according to the mental age displayed in their behavior patterns.

Everyone also seems to have agreed that the first violator of this unspoken agreement will face the full wrath of Countess Captain Cordelia Vorkosigan with Count Bodé Leobund Vormecetti's tacit support.
