Lamuir System

First campaign plot-relevant mention: Shards of Honor 39.0 "Rebel Yell"

Holopedia Galactica:

The Lamuir System has always been a system with a great volume of through traffic on the Shapani Bypass hyperlane. Some of this traffic has been proven in the last two decades to result from the somewhat illicit Gambler's Run, a dangerous hyperlane marked by poorly-maintained navbuoys.

All hyperspace traffic en route to Sefon System and the restricted area of Fondor System divert from the Shapani Bypass at Lamuir System.

Lamuir System's primary industry, therefore, is as a recharging depot for large, slow-moving hyperspace shipment convoys -- particularly for Herglic capital-sized freight haulers, and for Ithorian worldships (for whom the original system was built).

Geography

The system primary is Lamael, a G3 V Yellow Main Sequence star.
The closest planet in orbit has been completely dismantled for over a thousand years, its unfortunately radiactive components taken away for processing. It was replaced with an evenly-spaced collection of artificial planetoids, all absorbing stellar energy and storing it in batteries which are constantly being monitored and replaced when nearly full. The instructions for making major alterations are in Ithorian worldship code, and require the use of Ithorian worldship systems.
Lamorag is the second planet out in orbit around the primary. Lamorag is a solid rock with no atmosphere to speak of. It does, however, have two moons of very disparate sizes. Lamóirín is the larger moon, host to much of the monitoring equipment for the power collection planetoids. Lalugha, the smaller moon of Lamorg, has an emergency docking platform built into its surface but anything that lands there will undergo a strict quarantine for three standard weeks. (This may be a leftover protocol from the centuries when the radioactive inner planet was being processed.)
Lamorven, the third planet in orbit around the primary, is another solid planet with no atmosphere. Its axis of rotation is turned almost perpendicular to the plane of rotation, making the prospect of any permanent installation there difficult at best.
Lamuir, occupant of the fourth orbit in this system, is an excellent terrestrial planet with a long history.
Lanandag, by nature another rock without atmosphere, is heavily populated with domed communities, some of which are privately held. Lanandag's two moons, Laninon and Lanouk, respectively house Starport Authority and Traffic Control stations for the inner system.
Lamuirne is a remarkably colorful gas giant in the sixth orbit from Lamael. Its name approximately translates to "festive" or "celebration" from the early Ithorian descriptions. Lamuirne has 3 large moons and approximately 20 small natural moons, plus various hotel or hostel miniature stations in orbit to handle medium-term visitors.
Lamuirenn and Lafionn are the outermost planets, both ice planets with moons. Lamuirenn has one moon,Lagall, approximately one third Lamuirenn's size. Lafionn has two moons, Laogh and Lanaoise, both themselves primarily ice and possibly captured comets.

Natural Resources

Fully charged power cells from the innermost system are the primary export of the system, but tariffs and other traveller-related income are the basis of the overall economy.
