Hermos Nebula

The Hermos nebula as many call is in fact not a nebula but a bizarre phenomenon. Over the years however many just called it a nebula due to its cloud like appearance and the name stuck.
What makes the phenomenon strange is its sudden appearance many years ago. Originally the Hermos system contained only the planet Hermos but one faithful day there was a violent explosion that consumed the planet and created what is known as the Hermos nebula. The planet Hermos and its people the Hermophrodites have not been seen since.
It has been said that the phenomenon is a cluster of small black holes and the visibility is due to the stars and ionized gasses being torn apart within. However how this phenomenon was formed is unknown. The gravity within the phenomenon is continually shifting and electrical storms frequent the cloud leaving the phenomenon to become a dangerous enigma.
Many believe the place to to have a malice behind it or to be doorway to somewhere else. Some claim it may have been created by the empire to hide something on the planet Hermos.
Whatever the history to the Hermos nebula it is a space avoided as ships have that have entered the phenomenon rarely come back out.  The planet Hermos now a distant legend...
