Power Cosmic

Known as the Essence of Kaos, this is the very fabric of reality itself, and the glue that binds it together. It has been speculated that if one could control the Power Cosmic, one could control reality itself. There are several problems with this theory, not the least of which is the fact that this power is a part of Kaos, and thus is believed by many to be fully sentient.
The biggest issue, however, comes from the fact that many of the known rituals contained in The Kaoticon require a great deal of living energy to perform, and the result usually consumes the casters of the ritual, and makes the final product a wild and uncontrollable beast.
This is largely due to the fact that, in its natural state, The Power Cosmic is perfectly balanced between all things, from the ground to the sky to the stars, and tampering with it disrupts that natural balance, causing unpredictable consequences.

Manifestation

When it's not being used to summon or create monsters from beyond the veil of mortal perception, The Power Cosmic manifests as background radiation, so small as to be undetectable by most instruments. It is primarily responsible for holding the various laws of physics, nature, and magic together in harmony, which is another reason why tampering with it tends to have disastrous consequences.
