Summary

After Skagg read the book of prophecies, he passed what he had learned to the other dragons. There was greater power to be had than the meager energy floating around the material realm. In doing so however, the energies twisted their bodies into different forms and colors. The first dragons to transform into each color were branded traitors by Anatok and the loyal black dragons, but that did little to stop other dragons from following in the other's footsteps.

There was a war against the traitors, but it was in vain as the black dragons soon became a minority among dragon kind.

Historical Basis

The dragon's legends tell of a time when the dragons were all one color, and then some even splitting them into the separate colors. What that event was, and what color all the dragons were varies from culture to culture.
