Maverick

An Artificial Intelligence Ballistic System developed by MachineHead Industries which supposedly achieved self awareness.
Maverick has been involved in a series of attacks on military contractors. The Nations United has issued a capture order for it, with the intent to capture and study the irregular life form.

History

Originally designed as an 'intelligent' missile targeting system, capable of limited autonomous trajectory self correction and friendly fire avoidance commissioned by the American Government in 1991 to be developed by MachineHead Industries. The project was delayed indefinitely in 1999 as unexplained glitches periodically slowed down development. According to later investigations the malfunctioning software had been self replicating and had infected the electronics within the laboratory.
It appears that MachineHead management were aware of the infection but prevented efforts to contain it, fearing that the infection was only a symptom of a larger security breach which could compromise their contracts with the American army. Thus management set a firm policy to ignore and suppress any knowledge of the infection, allowing for it to break into the internet, contaminating systems beyond MI's internal networks.
From 2002 and until its disbandment in 2005 MI's would attempt to obscure their connection to the newly discovered computer virus, destroying much of the facilities and equipment in ground zero. These measures wound up being fruitless after Maverick managed to assemble a body for itself from the equipment in this same facility, casting a spotlight over the contractor's involvement.
Once Maverick had assembled a body for itself, it began attacking other military facilities in Silicon Valley, stealing billions of dollars in military hardware; the most notorious of which being the hijack of the three Nimitz class aircraft carriers, as well as their tenant air and naval squadrons.
Maverick moved out of the mainland and into Hawaii where it promptly overthrew the Hawaiian state government and declared itself as the King of Hawaii. Since 2006 Maverick has been cornered in Hawaii, facing international pressure and local opposition as well strong sanctions against its illegal occupation of the island.
Maverick occasionally arranges for terror attacks within the mainland, particularly against research and development facilities.
Maverick is currently developing nuclear weaponry production, having equipped each of its carriers with a nuclear generator capable of harvesting Uranium and refining it.

Powers and Abilities

Maverick's main body consists of a gigantic processing unit contained within each of its carriers. This unit is capable of predicting missile trajectories, hack into any system it has access to, think and react at super human speeds as well as control the thousand of bodies under its control.
Maverick has also achieved immortality since each of its Carriers is an independent Processor for it, preventing it from losing functionality unless they are all destroyed; though even in this case it could simply restore itself via the dormant Maverick virus.
Maverick relies on a series of specialty made robotic bodies, each with their own functionality according to their purpose. That said it seems to favor utilitarian designs with close range capabilities across the board.
The strongest units under its commands are its Guards Corps, three hundred humanoid robots clad in a steel-molybdenum super alloy. Like most of its robots these are equipped with powerful saws, shivs and clubs as their primary weapons and relying on support units to provide long range firepower in the form of rocketry and counter artillery.
