The Prism
The Prism is a restaraunt located in The Sunken City of Seink, managed by its own executive chef, Miunda Meis.
This restaurant has two characteristics that make it unique - it presents cuisine from all across the world, sometimes crossing together into a fusion, and it takes advantage of the beautiful natural lighting that Seink is known for, which happens to be its namesake.
Purpose / Function
The Prism serves food from all over Splore, in all sorts of configurations. From fusions to experimental presentations, The Prism is the frontrunner of the newest fads in cuisine. Its original intention was to bring surface food to the people of Seink, who were previously limited to seafood, but these days it serves as the ambassador to the world's cuisine. Chefs all across the world consider a job at this establishment to be the peak of performance, as each is a representative of their home.
One of the 'perfomance presentations' that The Prism is known for is how it serves food meant to be consumed underwater, i.e. food native to Seink or dishes containing Sunken Bioluminescent Plants, which only glow with vibrant colors while underwater. The dish is prepared while underwater, and before bringing it to the table, the chef casts a Sturdy Bubble spell. This encases it in a magical orb of water, making it so the food can be eaten while dry and still look as gorgeous as it should. Whether or not you should eat it with your face in the bubble depends on how much you care about what people think of you.
Architecture
The Prism was once originally held in a small, traditionally build building when it was first created by Miunda. After raising in popularity, a special building was constructed for it - one near completely made of glass. The light that comes from the outside city diffracts into the building, turning the building itself into an actual prism. It gives off the effect of being in a gentle bubble, whose surface reflects subtle rainbow-like colors.
History
When the restaurant was first conceived, it was called The Globe. It was originally a small, single-chef owned establishment meant to serve food that wasn't just seafood. However, as word got out about the restaurant over time - which happened quite quickly, given that tourism is one of Seink's biggest industries - the little building and the single chef just wasn't enough. Eventually, as the restaurant hopped from building to building, the decision was finally made for it to be constructed in its own large and unique building, where it was then renamed The Prism. The restaurant has been operating this way for about ten years to present day.
