Fahrig Eregmann Character in Spirit of the Age | World Anvil

Fahrig Eregmann

Admiral Fahrig Eregmann

The second son of the sister of the head of the house of Eregmann, Fahrig was close to the Arkäntall royal family. A nephew of noble birth, but with little prospect of gaining his own titles or ruling land in his own right, men like Fahrig would often enter administrative positions, join the clergy of the Stone God, or become officers in the king's armies.   Fahrig took the unusual route of joining the relatively meager Kilthian navy, and became a master mapmaker. He would eventually travel and chart the Tescaries on behalf of his king, and Fahrig's survey, bearing his name would become distributed across the great bay, forevermore naming the archipelago after the Kilthian aristocrat.

Mental characteristics

Accomplishments & Achievements

Credited as the father of the Kilthish navy, Fahrig rose to the admiralty and instituted many reforms to a neglected part of the Kilthian military. He traveled the bay, bringing back lessons from foreign countries to improve Kilthian naval power and shipbuilding, and through his many travels to the Tescaries produced some of the best maps of the region made at the time. Eventually copied into sea maps across the bay, Fahrig planted his name onto the archipelago in the middle of the Great Bay.   While Kilth did not engage in significant naval actions during Fahrig's tenure as admiral, his work is considered to have been instrumental in producing a system that could, in a limited way stand up to the might of the Runberi at sea without total collapse. He is also known as one of the most well traveled Kilthians of all time, having visited every corner of the Great Bay. Though considered a dwarven hero, Fahrig's path was also an uncommon one. Few have sought to emulate him, and few are encouraged to. Though Fahrig was a great man, he was also a strange man.

I like that you said he was great but also strange. Gives me some idea about him. XD It's really cool that he's considered the father of the navy even though he didn't have naval engagements.
