Not all leaders stand at the head of their people, some lead from the shadows, they allow a figurehead to have the glory, allowing them to do the work that is needed. Kalum Picksmith is one such man. The now head of the Skeletons Keys, the true heads of Garamant.
Kalum has held the title of Skull key for 6 years, stepping into the role when the former died hunting a Maji who had slipped their warden. Under his rule the city has flourished, a new wall was built within the innermost creating the sanctum. a place where Lakoti of the Keys is able to speak directly to him and offer guidance.
Kalums intention for the city is to expand. now the 10 walls are completed and Lakoti is able to commune directly with the city, the time has come to once again expand out, reclaim the waste that was left when the contraction happened. and then spread toward the mountains.

Kalum, like most Skeleton Keys is almost too ordinary, able to blend into any crowd and stand elbow to elbow with anyone in the city without raising any state of interest.

Joining the Skeleton keys as the 206th Key at 17, Kalum's rise to leader is like none before him. recruited at random, stolen at birth from the hospital as all Skeleton keys are and raised within the ranks Kalum has no family tied outside the Keys and even within them was often an outsider.

Growing up kalum did not believe that he was chosen at random. he believed that Lakoti guided the keys to him. He was right. Knowing this now has given him a drive unlike any.
