College of Tapestry
"The other schools are so interested in the single threads and how to mix them and shape them, but here we do something more, we look past the threads, past the stitches, we see the finished piece. The tapestry. It is in seeing the tapestry that has past we are able to influence that which is to come." Borand Wester, Second Stitch Seventh Thread. Speaking to his students on their first day.The Seventh Thread often called the college of tapestry, is one of the most unique of the threads. It is their belief that the best way to move forward is to learn from the past. They do this by 'reading the tapestry' an act that lets them look back along the tapestry of time and glean from it some insight on how to shape the future. be that by avoiding the same mistakes or copying past successes. Known for their skill with diplomacy and ability to spin magic into their words with greater ease than others they are both respected and feared by both those within and without the Schism. Often sent by the council if there is a need for a representative, the leader of the Thread also holds the title of Vox of the Schism.
Structure
As with all of the seven threads of the Schism the college of Tapestry is led by the First stitch, who also holds the position of Vox of the Schism. Below them are the second Stitches and the Bias, these deal with the day-to-day running of the thread. and below that, you have graduated members who are formally recognised as being skilled enough in the ways of their thread to and called Strands.
Whilst not an official title those below the strands who are studying the seven ways are often referred to as the Unspun.
Culture
More so than many of the other Threads the seventh is a very joyful one. much of their art centres around spoken word, music and performance. because of this they are seen by many other threads as being frivolous.
