Monsamese Laphlant Chyriht
The Laphlant Chyriht is a Monsamese charriott pulled by elephants.
The chyriht can vary in size but to be a true chyriht it must have a permanent yriht, the native style tent, attached to it.
Traditionally used by Monsamese royalty, the chyrihts would be several yards wide and capable of housing the occupant on the road for indefinite periods of time.
Typically only one or two are Laphlants are needed to pull the chyrihts. The Mahjra's personal chyriht was so large it needed eight laphlants to pull it. Owing to the large size of the beasts the platforms for the yrihts needs to be twice the height of a man, about eleven feet, in order to be level with the harness around the laphlant's chest.
The tents themselves are made from bamboo overwoven with intricately embroidered silk. In Monsamese culture; the more lavish your silk the more women under them. The mesh of bamboo lets the breeze through while the silk keeps out the heat, creating a cool interior.
The furnishings will be as exotic and expensive as the chyriht. Most will have a bed and seating at least. The Mahjra's had everything he could possibly need, including a copper bath.
Chyrihts cannot travel at great speed, but transform a long, hard journey into a comfortable ride. They also make an impressive spectacle when they are driven through the tropical plains.
