Lubos is the progenitor of the black moth vampires, personally gifted his vampirism by the goddess Myoticia. An ancient figure, Lubos has wandered among the spheres for ages and participated in many great event. And avid collector of knowledge, his personal realm is home to one of the largest collections among the spheres. Lubos is a philanthropist dedicated to leave each place he visits better than he found it. He's not always succesful, as his vampiric nature has amplified certain personality traits, most infamously his temper, which he often struggles to keep under control when pushed. Outside of that, Lubos is a caring, empathic and sensual being.
Lubos doesn't like fighting in general, but is more than capable if provoked. Having memorized hundreds of spells, he almost always has at least one trump card up his proverbial sleeves. And if needed, he can pout out enough magic to level a city block. If magic fails, he has master dozens of martials arts styles and weapon schools, giving him a breath of options to engage whatever enemy has decided to provoke him.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Even for a vampire, Lubos is ridiculously strong and tough, easily capable of ripping buildings apart with his bare hands. He's also quite speedy, with reflexes to match his observational skill, to the point of being able to dodge gunfire.

Lubos is big, even for his species of vampire. And even for as big as he is, his abdomen is especially thick for his body, sometimes giving him a bit of trouble when moving about in tight quarters or crowds.

Lubos' exoskeleton are imprinted with magical symbols that signify the different schools of magic he has mastered.

Special abilities

Lubos' body is infused with magic thanks to his ages of study and most spells flow over him like water against a rock. He also has access to a personal pocket-dimension where he stores his weapons when not in use. His wings are coated in a sweet-smelling powder that functions as an aphrodisiac, which he generally sheds a little off to spread the good mood. He's been known to release vast clouds of it in battle in roder to distract enemies and possibly make them easier to negotiate with. One of his most potent weapons is a spell he's developed over many years. It draws from all schools of magic and all the elements to blast an area, with a build in shielding spell protecting Lubos and his allies. It is supremely devastating, but also incredibly taxing and even Lubos can only perform it so often before being hit by magical burnout. Myoticia has gifted him with protection from curses, as well as an added boon. If a curse should affect him, it will also grant him a boon.

Apparel & Accessories

Lubos wears a mistwalker ceremonial scarf, which not only signifies his status, bt also protects him from the effects of the Mist when he travels between spheres.
At his side, he keeps his trust lorekeeper satchel, an enchanted bag that can hold many more books, scrolls and similar than its size would imply.

Specialized Equipment

Lubos wields to weapons in battle for when conflict is necessary.
Magic Meteor is a greatmace that has been enchanted with all five types of magic. Spells can be stored in its head, going off when contact is made with the enemy.
He also wields the Wyrd Blade, an oversized dueling sword. Occult and arcane magic has been infused its the sword in order to make its edge extra deadly.

Personal history

Lubos developed a keen interest in the arts of magic, which he even from a young age used to aid his nomad family. As he grew older, he concluded however that staying with them was holding him back, as following grazing animals and travelling from valley to valley gave him precious little opportunity to develop his talents. At the age of 14 in -6182 BIT, he therefore set out on his own, seeking opportunities to expand his knowledge.
He spend many years travelling, meeting people, exploring ancient ruins and seeking out institutions of learning, all to expand his great knowledge. In -6149 BIT, Lubos learned that a particular piece of knowledge had slipped from mortal minds, now held by the goddess of blood, Myoticia_. After a number of deeds, he was allowed an audience with the deity, who took a shine to him. She decided to not only grant him the knowledge he sought, but also take him as one of her mates and gift him with vampirism.
Now a vampire, Lubos decided to capitalize on his newfound power. He sought out his allies, offering each in turn the same gift he had received, culminating with him converting his nomad clan and family. Together, they settled the land and created the great city of Grandille. It would come to hold his seat of power, La Grande Bibliothèque, an enormous cross between an imperial palace and mystical archive, to hold all the knowledge Lubos would find.
Though he spend a few years ruling the city, he soon set out to explore again, trusting a team of advisors and governors to rule in his absence. He would over the next many ages witness and accomplish great things, always returning to his home to share the knowledge he had gathered.

Lubos was taught by the elders of his people, before moving out of his own. Mostly self-taught, Lubos values good education within his realm, as it can easily disseminate information that took him many seasons to track down.

Accomplishments & Achievements

The development of the Flindren civilisation, spearheaded by Lubos and his vampires, is in his opinion his greatest achievements. Focused on education and development, the Flindren people have made great advancements in various arts, from magic to chemistry.
In -5824 BIT, Lubos was forced to defend his nation from a rival realm of Tanatheme. Its ogre mages desired to claim La Grande Bibliothèque and add its trove of magical knowledge to their own. After years of brutal fighting, Lubos and his forces shattered the Tanatheme by using devastating magic to carve a path to their capital, followed by the death of the Tanatheme mage lords.

Failures & Embarrassments

In -1211 BIT, Lubos travelled to the sphere of Oomeath, having heard tales of its tyrannical ruler. Finding nothing but horror and death, Lubos confronted the ruler of the sphere, the dread phoenix lord Crux the Cruel. A devastating battle took place with would reduce Crux' castle and the surrounding area to a crater.
At the very end, to prevent the tyrant from ever returning, Lubos cast a truly twisted spell to shatter the avian butcher's very soul, ensuring they would never return. But in his rage against the tyrant, Lubos had been less than diligent in his investigations. Crux parasitically empowered himself by siphoning energy from Oomeath's world heart and the spell travelled along said connection. And while Crux was utterly annihilated, the spell cracked the world heart, inflicting great and permanent damage.
Lubos would soon after leave the sphere in shame, unsure if he had ultimately done more harm than good. This act also permanently marked him in the eyes of the rocs, who took great offence to his actions.
In 345 AIT, Lubos was on the track of a lost spell, said to grant access to a forgotten sphere created by a cadre of deities, in the uninhabited lands of Vastiaria. Prize almost in hand, he was confront by the wyrm Sorvegentind and her minions, who wanted the spell for their own ends. During the ensuing conflict, the dragon's mocking caused Lubos to loose his temper and he unleashed a powerful war spell that not only caused the ruin to collapse on top of them all, but also disintegrated the document and buried it in rubble.
Lubos still finds himself occasionally lying awake when he should sleep, wondering if somewhere out there exists a copy.

Mental Trauma

Lubos wanders far, but always returns home. However, he greatly fears the thought of never returning home at all. While few things can harm him and he meets most problems with unwavering confidence, should anything actually hurt him for real, it will often trigger panic attacks as the reality of his mortality suddenly stares him in the face.

Lubos is supremely intelligent, with a capacity that has allowed him to memorize most of the books in his grand archive. He's smooth talking with an overwhelmingly passionate personality that easily sweeps the legs away under most people. He's a quick thinker too with a sharp intuition.

Morality & Philosophy

Lubos very much believe in making love over war. He can enjoy a good scrap if its part of a friendly brawl, but outside of that, he doesn't like using his powers to hurt others. He acknowledges that sometimes, violence is the solution and some people can't be talked down peacefully. And in those cases, he admits to feeling a degree of satisfaction. Lubos also believes in the value of education and the passing of knowledge, but also believes some knowledge is too dangerous if utilized by the wrong people. Such knowledge should still be preserved and occasionally taught, but it should be safeguarded from the careless. His own library has a sealed archive that contains all things he has deemed to be dangerous information.

Lubos treasures knowledge and see the intentional destruction of it as a great offence. Knowledge fosters growth and the erasure of it, even if that knowledge is dangerous, inherently limits the potential of of people. Cruelty for fun or other unreasonable purposes goes against Lubos' sense of empathy. Even at his angriest, he has no interest in prolonging suffering. Lubos believes that sex is a way of bonding and having fun. Those who abuse it to hurt others quickly earns his ire. Loving his friends, family and followers, Lubos takes his responsibility serious. Those who betrays such responsibilities are the worst scum of all in his eyes.

Lubos has had the passing of countless generations to learn and master hundreds of skills. He's trained in various physical arts and combat styles to learn how to most effectively utilize his own body. He's learned multiple forms of craftsmanship, including alchemy, weaving, metalworking, calligraphy and lapidary. He's an expert at communication and can easily bend the opinions of others just through rhetoric. He has a laser focus that allows him to great mental clarity, outside of his violently unstable temperament. He has mastered many magical arts of all major types of magic. Having memorized just about every book he's read, he has a breath of knowledge on a massive number of subjects. His many journeys has lead him to understand a vast variety of terrains and how to fight countless types of foes. He's a skilled dancer and outstanding harpist. Every weapon he wields, he does with an artisan's grace and an executioner's finality.
He is, however, not very subtle. His very presence can only be described as loud and subterfuge does not come naturally to him. Also, his legendary toughness is rooted exclusively in his vampiric nature. Anything that can get around that, such as through his inherent vampiric weakness, will find him to be quite vulnerable.

Lubos does struggles with a truly explosive temperament. Once triggered, most thoughts beyond folding whatever offended him into a paper hat goes out the window. It has more than once caused more problems than it has solved and the vampire puts as much effort as he can into maintaining a calm disposition through breathing exercises, meditation and copious amounts of calming teas occasionally laced with various drugs. It has barely helped.
His belief in development and progress can also lean into being overly optimistic and despite his belief that knowledge can be dangerous, he can also be completely blind to the potential misuses or negative sides of a given creation, focusing entirely on the good it can do.

Booden: Many interesting things make their way to the treasuiries of the Marcalidon pirates and knowing their language has helped Lubos acquire items of interest.
